MILAN WERE very disappointing as they took on Real Madrid for the last friendly match of the USA Tour. The big gaps in quality between the squads were seen already from the start as Real Madrid dominated possession and beat Milan’s midfield far too easily. 24 minutes into the game, Angel Di Maria scored a superb volley from outside the box after a Christian Abbiati clearance to give Real the lead. Robinho equalized in the 33′ minute after a beautiful team play (one of the very few Milan had in that game). Both teams made changes in half times with Jose Mourinho giving some of his star players the nod while Massimiliano Allegri made his Milan side objectively weaker. That was too much for Milan to handle and Real Madrid scored four more goals in the second half: Cristiano Ronaldo scored a brace for Los Blancos (49′, 66′), Sergio Ramos headed to goal (81′), and Jose Callejón completed the job in the 89′ minute. Kaka finished with 3 assists but was probably the only Milanista in the world that was happy after the game. Milan had a very bad game and much work is still needed.
