ANTONIO CASSANO’s return to Sampdoria this summer is unlikely, their vice president suggests.
Cassano is believed to be unhappy with the sales of Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Paris Saint-Germain and he too is linked in these days with an exit from Milan, after only 1.5 years in Rossoneri.
Today’s il Corriere dello Sport claims Cassano wants Sampdoria return this summer. He already declared such desire a few weeks ago, but Sampdoria say the a move for Cassano is impossible right now.
Galliani: “Milan will sign a champion”
Milan in talks to sign Rafael in January
“Cassano? I don’t know much; he’s a Milan player. He had many good times with us but in like you take various roads, he’s now feeling well at Milan,” stated the Blucerchiati’s Vice President Edoardo Garrone. “We have a great relationship with him. We saw each other two months ago and we had a great time.
“But return of Cassano to Sampdoria is absolutely impossible, at least for this season.” Cassano famously fell out with President Riccardo Garrone and he moved to Milan in January 2011. At Milan he became a changed man: much more screne and realaxed and it pays him off on the pitch as he’s currently one of the top forwards in Serie A. As things stand now, Cassano will be in the starting XI next season with Alex Pato.
Edoardo Garrone added on a reported Milan-target Andrea Poli, who will definitely not be staying at Samp and reportedly wants Milan/Juventus: “Milan haven’t asked for him. We’ve ongoing talks with Napoli.”
I hope Cassano stays, we can’t let him leave as he’s a real assist machine, imagine if he and Pato or Dzeko if he arrives, finds a great understanding, our attack will be great.
