MILAN HAVE already contacted Real Madrid and initiated negotiations for Lassana Diarra reportedly.
Milan will be signing a central midfielder this summer – a regista – as this is the one type of player that is missing in the Milan squad before it’s complete according to Vice President and CEO Adriano Galliani.
The Rossoneri have been linked with a number of players including Kevin Strootman, Nuri Sahin and Fernando Gago but it appears that Milan are checking the option of signing Lassana Diarra of Real Madrid.

According to today’s La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan chiefs have already inquired on Lass and initiated the negotiations. It’s believed that the 27-year-old who is also wanted by Premier League sides will leave Real Madrid as he has a contract with them until 2013 so they’ll risk losing him for free if they don’t sell now.
“It’d be difficult for Lassa to play in Italy because he still has a year left in his contract with Real Madrid and he has an offer of importance from the Russian Spartak Moscow,” Lass’ Italian agent Claudio Vigorelli said. Milan tried to sign Lass last summer but he did not want to leave Jose Mourinho’s Los Blancos at the time.
Meanwhile, il Corriere dello Sport suggests that Milan could also consider Xabi Alonso who can leave Real Madrid this summer as Mourinho would want to use Nuri Sahin – another possible target – next season.

Lass is great. I am also a real fan and I believe that lass is stronger defensively than Khedira and Sahin. He’s not much offensively though. He can also play very well as a right-back which provides cover for Abate. And he is only 26 which means he can play for at least 4-6 years at top level.

Between Alonso and Sahin, I would go for Sahin, even though Alonso is better, at the time, I just can’t picture him in Serie A. And regarding Lass… we’re after a Regista…someone who can play infront of the defence, sure we can play Lass there as well, but that’s not his real position! It was just an idea, Madrid was after him when he was a free transfer, but he decided to join us instead, so they know who he is… but like I said, it was just an idea.

I dont think Sahin will come. I mean we are looking for a MVB replacement and Sahin is not that guy he is a deep-lying playmaker while MVB was more of an Anchor man and his main duties were breaking up play of the opposition. Sahin isn’t that good at defending. So we will go for players in the mould of Lass(defensive ones). I prefer Strootman who is good at defending, technically good and can spray passes around the field.

Actually it’s good to have a player like Lass,because teams in Europe are now too physical and every team employs a guy in the mid to be a COG in the WHEEL. Lass if plays to his true potential is a good addition for Milan. If we can have Monty and Boa playing beside him .We will have a very strong midfield. So Cassano Ibra Pato can think about racing forward and scoring goals. Monty should dictate the tempo of the game. Boa/Nocerino should move up and assist the front line. as far as I know, a regista is a deep-lying playmaker, like Pirlo. He plays in the CDM position, but is mainly used to supply the forwards with accurate long balls, and to dictate the play.
Regista means someone who can play in front of defence
i think lass is not the best option but he’s better than gago, lets hope this rumour is just because of good relationship with real madrid, i hope we sign better and younger regista and next year we sign lass for free :D

i am not impressed with milan current signings for 2012/2013. the management did not seriously think about winning CL. the signings (traore, montolivo, gabriel, acerbi, constant (loan) are not for competing at CL level. don’t expect too much, guys. imo, juve have signed better players.
