Ibra: “Milan have economic problems”

ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC says Milan have no money to buy who the need but he’ll respect his current deal.

Milan have made very few ‘big signings’ in the past years but they brought Zlatan Ibrahimovic in 2010 from Barcelona for €24 million. The deal proved to be worthwhile as Ibra had two great seasons with il Diavolo.

Milan have got the reputation of a club that only buys cheap and Ibrahimovic is aware of that and admits the club is having a difficulty when it comes to money and he doesn’t expect much from this transfers window.

“Milan’s problem is the economy. Milan don’t have enough money to buy 5 players or even just the players that they need,” Ibrahimovic, who is the highest paid player in Italy with €9 million yearly, said in a press conference as he’s at Sweden’s training camp. “We made a couple of signings, maybe there will be a 3rd.

“We’ve gotten some new players. We’ll play together for a long time; the more that you play together, the better you become. Look at Chelsea. They won the Champions League, but they weren’t the best team.

“I don’t know why I’ve had such a good season, but I’ve always felt good both physically and mentally throughout the season,” added the man who finished as Serie A’s Top Scorer this year. “I felt better after the matches. I don’t know the reason behind it, but I’ve felt good, strong and energetic all the time. I have a contract and I respect that, but everything can happen in football. But nothing is going to happen now.

“I have a contract with Milan. Now I’m thinking about Sweden, then vacation and then Milan. I absolutely want to play in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. My contract with Milan also expires in 2014 so it’s perfect.

“Who will win Euro 2012? I hope that Sweden wins it, but if they don’t, then I don’t care who wins it. What I would have become if I didn’t play football? Definitely not a journalist. I don’t know what would have happened then.”Ibrahimovic is the captain of his national team but he has never won anything with them

Mino Raiola, Ibrahimovic’s agent, wanted to clarify what Zlatan meant in his words and said again that the 30-year-old who previously played for Ajax, Juventus, Inter and Barcelona will not leave the Rossoneri.

“Ibra never wanted to say that Milan haven’t got any money. He expressed himself badly,” super-agent Raiola told Sky Sport 24. “Ibra asked me to specify what he said. He wanted to talk about the financial crisis in world football and not about Milan. Ibrahimovic knows that 5 big players won’t arrive at Milan, but that hasn’t got anything to do with what the club is doing. This declaration came out in the wrong way.

“Galliani is calm. He knows that these things often get twisted by the press, but he understood what Ibra wanted to say. Yes, I met with Galliani. Ibra and him are in tune with each other. Everything is clear.

“Ibra will definitely stay at Milan. There are 4-5 clubs that are keeping an eye on Ibra, but Milan have been very clear with us: Ibra is not for sale. Ibra knows that he’s not for sale. We’re both very calm about his situation at Milan. Ibra is happy and he’s aware of Milan’s project. Milan have put back a smile on his face.

“There is a global crisis and Ibra knows that Milan are doing what’s best for Milan. Everything is good between Ibra and Milan. From today and onwards, Ibra will not talk anymore about Milan, because he is now with the Swedish national team. Ibra and Allegri have a professional relationship, where they both respect each other. Ibra as the Milan captain? The captaincy will never be his to ask. It’s the club and the coach who decides it. However, you can be a captain without wearing the captain’s armband,” he added.

One of the reasons I like Ibra is because of this. His honesty is like thunder and lightning.

Bad management, that’s what I blame it on. I don’t see us getting out of this. Short term plans that’s all management know. What source of revenue will help us. Financial fair play going to make it worse, really sad

ladon

Berlu should sell 40% stake to generate funds. Thats the way out

Il Diavolo

this summer is key. management needs to set a plan in place for the next 6-10 years. Our wage structure should be changed, and I believe Ibra is angling for a move and the end of the transfer market and will get it.

Its a fact b’cos our mgt is very weak. Galliani is lacking ideas and our players are not marketable.

Well, I’ve been saying this for a long time now. That’s why Milan held on to so many old players for so long. But we can still build a good team with some quality out of contract players this season. Milan is still a prestige club and will attrack quality players regardless of our financial problems. It may be time for Berlusconi to sell up to 60-75% of his shares to some rich Middle Eastern or Russian oil tycoon! Berlusconi needs to do this before the FIFA Financial Fair Play rule take effect! If Berlusconi does not do this then… Read more »

Berlusconi shld sell @ most 30% of d club to dis arab guys he shld makin d fans unhappy. All he does is to spend moni for prostitute

The reason is cause Milan never thought about the future ever, now look. First we need to sell ibra his wage is ridiculous and we will get 20 million minimum. Then we need to structure a wage limit, like Arsenal 60 000 with a few exceptions 1 or 2. Then we need a scout program that rivals Udinese to get young players before they cost ridiculous amounts and sell when the 50 mill offers come. Easier said the done, but better than what management has I guarantee it. What you guys think?

20 years ago we didn’t need to sign half a team like we do now. What happened to Milan’s youth set up? Maldini, Costacurta, Albertini, Simone, Ambrosini all came from the youth team. Why aren’t youth been given a chance? Instead of keeping Astori they lose him and get Mexes to replace him.

yo ibra,i luv u man,but here’s a suggestion.why don’t u take one 4 da team & lower ur wages to say 4.5-5 mil.im sure dat will show ur luv & dedication to da team.
