Mexes not unhappy at Milan

PHILIPPE MEXES insists he’s ready to keep up the fight and has never had a row with Coach Allegri.

Mexes has shown Milan his many faces this season as along with some great tackles and interceptions of the ball in defense, he made some really ridiculous mistakes that eventually cost Milan important points.

The Frenchman struggled with fitness and health problems in the last weeks and remained out of the squad on a few occasions, which led the press to believe that he could be on his way out after 1 year only.

“It hurts to read reports I want to leave Milan or had a fight with the Coach, as none of it is true,” Mexes, who arrived to Milan in the summer on a Bosman transfer after years at Roma, told Milan Channel. “After the knee injury it was not easy to get back on to the field, but now I want to get back to my usual levels.

“We did not expect to face the derby with only a one-point gap from Juve, as we didn’t see their draw with Lecce coming. Now we must believe to the end. We must win our remaining two games and hope for another slip-up from Juventus. Thankfully the injury list is shrinking now and everyone will give their all.

“I made two mistakes – against Barcelona and against Fiorentina, I was a little tired then because we were playing every three days, but the team has never given up, though we’ve often played every three days and we’ve had so many injuries. Fortunately the situation has now improved, we have recovered almost all the injured players and now everyone is ready to give their best to take the field on Sunday,” he concluded.

If Thiago Silva won’t be fit to play on Sunday night against Inter at San Siro, Mexes is expected to take the starting role alongside Alessandro Nesta in the heart of the defense at the Derby della Madonnina.
