MASSIMILIANO ALLEGRI says tomorrow’s game will be tough and important for the Scudetto race.
Milan are back in the domestic league after the Champions League encounter with Barcelona on Wednesday, which ended in 0-0, and they hope to maintain their great run with a win against Catania.
Catania are certainly no pushovers, especially in their stadium. Stadio Angelo Massimino has been sold out for the game, and Allegri knows it will be important to beat the Rossazzurri on Saturday evening.
“Berlusconi wants Milan to play like Barcelona”
Catania-Milan: The Rossoneri squad
“Catania are not a team that sits back and defends. They’re doing great in the league because Montella is very good and they have players of great technical quality like Lodi, Almiron and Izco who have mix running with quality. They’re very dangerous up front and they’re solid at the back. They’re in good shape and we’re on the back of a game that sapped a lot of energy. It’ll be tough,” Massimiliano Allegri said.
“Physically, we’re in decent shape, I’ll have some players fresh from Barcelona. We’re trustful. We’ll need to be competitive and have conviction ahead of a key game, similar to the match against Fiorentina away last year. The performance on Tuesday will follow on from tomorrow’s game and so we have to be ready.
“It’s a particular week, but we’ll take it game by game. We’ll think about Barcelona only from Sunday. We have to come back from Catania with a result. Catania is more important now than talking about Barca.
“I’m not thinking about Juventus. At the moment we have four points on them and they be fighting until the end. They have the right qualities to fight for and to win the league. The pitch at the San Siro stadium? The Meazza pitch has always been a problem, not just this year. It’s something the club has to deal with.”
Barbara Berlusconi said her father and Milan President, Silvio, had some tactical things he did not entirely like, but Allegri says he has spoken to Berlusconi and they analyzed Wednesday’s performance.
“I spoke with the president yesterday and we exchanged opinions as always. I owe him and I give him explanations regarding the team and he gives me his thoughts. He was happy with the performance and we analyzed Wednesday’s game with no problems. We knew that against Barcelona, the best team in the world, there are times when you’ll suffer. They’re very good holding onto the ball but that doesn’t mean that they can’t lose,” Allegri who said after the Barcelona game that Milan are now stronger than before added.
“Before Wednesday, no one gave us a chance but we got a positive result and now we have to show the competitiveness to go to Catania and then prepare the game against Barcelona,” Max concluded.
Meytar Zeevi will not be around from Sunday to Friday as he will be on a trip to Barcelona and of course watch Milan at the Camp Nou. Threfore he won’t be able to update Rossoneriblog.com.
Forza Milano
Let first demolish catania b4 bouncing back on barca by 2-1
haha i feel for Allegri. He has to listen to Silvio tell him how to do his job.
This match does very much have a similar feeling to last year’s trip to Firenze. It can be decisve. It will be difficult. Catania have many quality players who must not be underestimated.
Let’s go Milan! It will be a tough one, tomorrow afternoon.
Meytar going to watch Milan’s match in Nou Camp?
If we play the way we played in the first leg at home, then we’ll win. Am expecting nothing short of positive results.
@Meytar Zeevi, Safe trip man! And I hope your presence at the Nou Camp will bring us Goodluck alongside our White Kit and Galliani’s yellow tie.
Forza Milan Y’all.
We had the white kits on and of course Galliani was wearing a yellow tie against Catania……..
