NOT for the first time this year, it seems like Galliani and Co are approaching the mercato in what many think as “the wrong way”. After chasing two strikers for most of December and January, one being overrated the other one overpaid the needs of Milan were not entirely fulfilled. The posible arrival of Tevez was seen as season changing or moral boosting for the ones that believed Pato had fallen from grace and as a posible setback for “the duck” for his supporters. Yet another chapter was yet to be written in this novel I call “the good the bad and the ugly”.
Pato’s potential is really unmeasurable, he might be the next ballon d’or as he might be the next Ricardo Oliveira; Tevez skills are a given, often overshadowed by his bad behaviour. We know most of these two characters since they have been in the spotlight for so long, the only question mark is actually how good can Maxi be under an immense amount of pressure.
Being a regular starter last season for Catania, a change of coach saw him relegated to the bench and while many think of this as a drop of level I try to read in between the lines. Just like Pirlo has proven this year, sometimes the coaches choices have more to do with  specific characteristics to their strategies rather than poor/bad form. Montella is a coach who prefers to use pace rather than force up front which justifies Maxi’s relegation to the bench.
S.S. Lazio-AC Milan: The Rossoneri squad
Official: Milan loan Muntari from Inter
A product of the youth team of one of Argentina’s giants River Plate and then passing through Barcelona as well Maxi’s skills have been barely recognised. Don’t get me wrong, this signing was eyebrow rainsing for me as well, but given his history you cannot do but wonder what was seen in him. Maybe a more comfortable environment like Milan is what he needs to exploit his qualities at best and who really knows, sometimes what you see is not what you get, we might have just got a great goalscorer or a supersub to get us through to the end of the season. The odds are completely against him with close to none of the % of the supporters showing him some love. It’s hard enough to go somewhere else to prove yourself, even harder if it is on the big stage, even worst if you have the crowd against you.
To me, Milan’s biggest quality is, has been and should always be that we are a big family, from the ones that cut the grass, to the supporters, to the players to Berlu and Co. All bound through a special connection beyond from football, victory or prestige. The love for our colours, for our principles is something I have not seen in any other club, the respect for our players unprecedented and while many started to bash Maxi as soon as his signing was made official, I just made my mind with it. He became a Milan player whether I liked it or not, certainly until the end of the season and probably for longer than that. I’d just like to encourage you to give him just a few chances to prove himself before starting to call him “not Milan class”, cause some if not all of us can be surprised if he becomes a key signing just like the once called by some of you “not Milan quality” Nocerino.

I have high hopes for Muntari and Maxi because if we got Nocerino to score 7 goals I think they will improve alot and Milan will get their best.
dude better not to have ‘high hopes’ cuz there is every chance he’ll flop
But i hope not
Maxi will not get too much playing time because we alrady have some world class strikers and we also have SES92(who is actually very awesome) so he is just for reserve…:D
Good article, and good respond! keep the spirit up! the key of Milan’s transfer is that Galliani looking at the player’s potential, ability and the spirit, determination to do well in their prime stage of their career before its eventually going down in few years to come! look at the age of Cassano, Ibra when they’re signed for Milan its in their 29! the prime age is usually 27-30.. and so does Maxi and Muntari!! Nocerino is still 26 yo but his determination to do well can’t be questioned!! Galliani is looking at this value, not only the price tag… Read more »
tottaly agreed with you and agreed story , but i am sad coz of our winter transfer window … so , so sad ! YOU DISSAPOINTED US galliani
fair enough..he does deserve a chance b4 being quickly written off.A vice ibra i guess?since our other strikers are not as physical as he is…hope he does well, great artcile, forza milan))
A more comfortable Environment like Milan is what he needs to exploit his qualities indeed.
white Drogba….
Thats what they call him in Catania……
Lets wait and see ow it goes….
Some failed eg :Klass Jan Huntelar,Marco Boriello WHILE some succeeded eg Melsbah,Nocerino,Aquilani
Anyway,i wish him tha very best of luck in Milan..
Its a beautiful day 2day…..
Good article,no doubt.
But i do hope he delivers and proves us wrong-if not i just can’t wait to drag him through the mud,if he turns out to be a total flop…(^_^). Anyways that’s just me though….
Il CA Milano è il randello migliore mentre Milano inter e Juventus sono perdenti irritati….Forza Milan
yer right, i think inzaghi is better than him, inzaghi just needs a little confidence from allegri, but allegri is wrong, inzaghi is world class, if he is not included in the cl list it will be the worst mistake he has ever made, he did it once, i hope he doesnt do it again,
Playing alongside world class players such as Strikers, Midfielder and Defenders in a world class team might bring the best out of player.
I hope he will exploit his qualities to full potential.
Before he joined us, i have always admire him and wish he could play 4 milan, thank God we have him now, the only thing i will want is: Allegri should help him by working on sel pieces bcos he’s very good on air than any of our strikers now and he’s tactically incline, average footed, he reminds me of cristian vieri. Hope he adapt on time.
I will not pretend I know much about Maxi Lopez because I do not follow Catania. However, I like that he wants to be here and I think that Allegri will use him in the most effective way possible. The nice thing about this move is that it is a loan move, meaning if he does not impress Allegri, he will not be back and Milan’s commitment to him is brief. I also think this works as we are expecting Antonio C. back at some point and El Shaarawy seems to be impressing. By the end of the year you… Read more »
Good luck guys do your do’s and hide ur do not.

lopez aka white Drogba..
Dont knw ow true that is…
Thank you for this.. I’m not too keen on the lad myself.. but like you’ve said there’s very little I can do than hope he proves me wrong, and I will be cheering him on to ensure he does…
@Ladygaga We’ll know very soon.
One of the most important things i feel has been neglected is that we often forget that players like Maxi are NEEDED. Top teams today are involved almost 60 games a season, and not every player on the squad has to be an Ibra, T.Silva kind of player. Teams need players for rotation and subs, and if those players were all world class talents the squad will have division and players will not be happy. Look at every club that invests in all kinds of players, they end up in situations where players are not happy, get frozen out and… Read more »
Hope maxi steps up cus as much as i hate dis , i still love dis annoyin club .to d next crespo .
I always thought Muntari was really good, but obviously the management at Inter and Sunderland know more than I do.
i remember the goal lopez scored against milan
should not take Muntari. Not a good player.
tryin to justify a wrong is more foolish than commiting it, milan has done nothing in proving to us fans that they have any objective of competing for the champions league & thats unfortunate because we’ve got to be content with an average team. choosin to spend only a mere 500 thousand shows their goal. winning a national league on the decline is not enough, people wake up allegri maybe winning but he’s presiding over a falling brand, comparing milan & madrid is like comparing allegri with mourinho. empires cum & go, milans’ glory – jus lyk the roman empire… Read more »
wow! remind me again, which league has the most teams at this stage of the UCL? sorry? what did you say? SERIE A. thought so too. our leagues not going anywhere down anytime soon….money is not all in football. 50m euros for a player who has not scored half of noce’s goals is money down the drain. after all the money abramovic has spent, how many cups in europe have they won? let mourinho go to a club that cannot buy that “star” player for him and lets watch how he will perform.the whole galacticos have not “managed” to score… Read more »
FERNANDO TORRES:sold to chelsea for 50mil = can’t score a goal to save his life…
GERMAN DENIS: loaned to atalanta = 12 goals, 3rd highest in serie a(playing for atalanta!)

u guys are forgeting about.lucas roggia.our young samba star.hope doesnt get injured as….
Fantastic article!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah people are entitled to their opinion about the article but some don’t count and in fact i’ve seen some meaningless ones here. I believe Zac made the best point which all of us must understand. FORZA MAXI
wen was the last tym milan went past the quarter finals of the champions league, in fact the last tym a serie a team won the cup mourinho was coach and the is very little hope of any team from italy winning it any time soon. people r in denial hope lazio has knocked sum sence into you people.
@Francis : You make a very sensible compilation on Maxi and what will be his offering towards the team, however you fail to realize what Allegri has to offer Maxi. Its one thing to have a player and another thing on utilizing him. Since he is a forward and talks are that he is a back up for Ibra things will be very difficult as Allegri will never sub Ibra and Maxi wont be able to show is class with Ibra alongside because Milan is Ibracentric. Imagine Robinho SES & Maxi playing together ,this will just remain an imagination ,because… Read more »
@ Ben , @ zac, @ lady gaga am with you guys
@lloyd c’mon men be positive,I don’t greatly disagree with you personally but Maxi isn’t the problem. The problem is a playmaker and I don’t know if it’s Allegri’s system or the fault of management but if we get the playmaker we need we’ll be within touching distance of the best.Forza Milan.
