FILIPPO INZAGHI would be a dream, says Parma chief Ghirardi, but a move is unlikely to happen.
Inzaghi played for the Ducali during the 1995-1996 term, five years before moving AC Milan, where he has become an important figure and an idol for many players as well as a hero for the Rossoneri fans.
With Pippo reportedly considering a January Milan exit, due to the fact that he barely plays this term, Parma were mentioned as a possible destination for the 38-year-old striker, but they say it’s improbable.
Catania: “Maxi to Milan? We know nothing”
Genoa C.F.C-AC Milan: The Rossoneri squad
“I would be a hypocrite if I said it wasn’t my dream to have such an important player here,” President of Parma Tommaso Ghirardi, who has been in charge of the Crociati since 2007, told Radio Monte Carlo today (Friday). “We are friends, he’s an excellent guy, but we haven’t spoken about these sorts of things.
“I think it would be hard for him to leave a club like Milan and play for a provincial side who can’t offer him the stage he is used to. Fortunately I have [former AC Milan and Inter striker Hernan] Crespo here. He’s a flag bearer for us and an idol for the fans. He scored 10 goals in the League last term when he was 35.”
Inzaghi expressed desire before to retire at Milan but never ruled out the possibility of leaving in January.
