Question mark over El Shaarawy’s future

STEPHAN EL SHAARAWY’S Milan future is no longer certain, according to the agent of the player.

Roberto La Florio often claims there is nothing in the rumours linking El Shaarawy with a Milan exit, but in light of Genoa President Enrico Preziosi’s new revelations, La Florio is no longer certain Stephan will stay.

Preziosi has stated on Tuesday that Milan are interested in signing Alexander Merkel back in January and in return they offered Genoa, El Shaarawy – a deal that Genoa declined. La Florio confirms the news.

Only free loans, says Galliani

“There is a question mark over the future of Stephan at this moment,” La Florio, the representative of the 19-year-old, told Goal.com today. “It is true: just now I was on the phone with Preziosi. I established that he spoke of Stephan with Milan. But we know nothing at the moment; we will be advised by the club [Milan].

“The boy is fine at Milan and knows that he must always give his best to carve out a space for himself [in the squad]. In Italy coaches are struggling to give more space to young people, especially in big clubs. We should instead follow the example of the English teams: If Stephan was playing there he’d surely play as a starter. I can say is that there will be a discussion with the club in the coming weeks and then we’ll see.

“What I can say is that there will be a discussion with the club in the coming weeks and then we will see. We will make the best choice for Stephan and the Rossoneri. It is clear that if they offered him the opportunity to play an important role in a mid-level side, that’d be a hypothesis not to be discarded lightly.”

El Shaarawy made a name for himself in Serie B with Padova while being on loan from Genoa. The Rossoneri paid a sizeable amount of money – €10m- to bring the talented boy to the fashion capital.

El Sharawy is a prospect. I dont think and I hope Milan would want to waste and sale this kinda promising talent. Forza Milan!

Labaika

Dnt do da dat

gbengezy

keep him, he will definitely get his chances, he has nice footwork

gbengezy

keep him, he will definitely get his chances but with Tevez arrival a loan deal wont be bad for him, he has nice footwork

pippo

I can’t believe!!WE gave 50% of merkel and then 10 mil for this guy, and now we want to swap again these two!!Are we crazy? Why did we bought him in the first place if he isn’t getting any playing time? In one hand we cry how we need to be prudent with money, but in other hand we splash on this kid, and then we keep him on the bench. We didn’t believe in merkel and now we want him back?!Why?To keep him on the bench also? Why did we bought didac? To send him back to espanyol? Why don’t we… Read more »

Totally agree.. So many mistakes in the last few years..
We didnt believe in players like Gourcuff,Paloschi, even Papastathopoulos could have been great for us…

If we arent ready to produce talents, then it is better to give that money to players that are ready for the first-eleven ..
With 10 millions we could have bought Montolivo last summer and our squad would have an other depth level…

pippo

Don’t forget matri and astori.

chris

Milan should give this rare Italian talent a chance. He has the DNA of greatness, though I wouldn’t mind Merkel too…both of them will be integral part of Milan future midfield. Galliani be wise here!

alluallu

@Labaika
English please???

Peregrin

Loan him out to a lower end serie A side. Somewhere like Atalanta, Cesena, Bologna etc. He’ll start for sure.

vicente

I am beginning to doubt Galliani’s recruitment ability, maybe he is getting old.

Afanofmilan

Dis is sad but not unexpected . Wanted to c him in a milan shirt but the league itself has a probelm .

vicente

El Shaarawy out,Maxi Lopez in how does that sound? What is happening?

MoMilan

it sounds really bad not only for SES or Milan but for the league itself and the wired mentality ruling it

vicente

The fear to play younger players is killing the Italian League

Giancarlo

Like Abate, Pato, and others who get starts? Really?

Sheva7

Abate was used cuz well Leo is dumb@ss and he figured why not use a midfielder as Full-Back since in his mind attacking was the best defense.
Pato was bought for 20+ Millions and he didnt have much competition.

Giancarlo

What about Aquilani, Noce*rino, Robinho? These are not old players.. I don’t get why you respond to everything I write. It’s frankly pis*sing me off. Abate was used as a right back because he played that position before. He wasn’t always a midfielder.

Slinky

Hamsik, Giovinco, Pato, Pastore (who has left), Hernanes, Illicic, Noce*rino, Merkel (Genoa regular), Abate, Aquilani, Antonini, Taiwo, Boateng I can go on and on, proving you wrong, but I shall now stop wasting my time on i*d*i*o*t*i*c people.

MoMilan

If its a loan then this is good news as we all saw the improvement of merkel as a result of him playing regular so this is deffinitly the best for both
SES can not be a starter here yet and he will gain tons of experience out there
an example is sturridge at chelsea went through huge improvement after being loaned to bolton

Peregrin

He is a promising prospect for the future but while he sits on the bench, he will never grow! A loan until the seasons end would be ideal. He would start at least half of the clubs in Serie A but we can’t forget he has very little experience of Serie A as it is! He has hardly played in it though he showed his credentials in Serie B.

Sheva7

Meh he’ll go on Loan for 4-5 years long and eventually get sold like all the rest becuz Milan doesnt know how to groom players.

Idowu

I wouldn’t want to Loan SES but due to the Current Situation in Milan now, 6 Months Loan will be preferable.

Ted

I would love to see Merkel back in Milan… But not at expense of Shaarawy. Maybe loan him out but pull off a deal for Merkel.

john

loan him out get him back, when he is about 32 then allegri will use him.

Giancarlo

Ridiculous child*ish talk.

arya

come on guys we need merkel back

acorn

this is so typical milan, they have great youth players, then they sell them nd keep the old ones, wtf ppl are already calling them the retirement villa… And they always do this let the kid play parts of a game then decide no he must go, he aint going 2 prove himself if he doesnt get game time, i mean we are playing our weaker teams now, use nd then decide, selling merkel nd verdi was already a waste, they should of stayed.

Giancarlo

Says who? We do keep our younger players who are up to the task. Like Abate, Pato and others. Pato needs to improve and I’m often critical of him, but he still has scored a lot in his years with us. How can we be called a retirement villa when the average starting age of our team is about 27? That’s comparable to other teams. We have two midfielders… 26 and 27… this is not old. And we didn’t sell Merkel and Verdi, and if they stayed they wouldn’t start over players like Robinho, Pato, Ibra or Ca*ssano (when he… Read more »

Giancarlo

If El Shaarawy cannot perform then we should ship him out. I had issues with this transfer from day 1. I was willing to support him, but if he cannot adjust to the pressures of a big team, he’s not cut out to play for a big team.

Ted

Adjust the pressure? He didn’t even got the chance to feel the pressure and he bagged a goal on his debut. He should stay and there is no need for Tevez, faraone just needs playing time but looks like Milan wants fast results and not building so much on youth right now. Don’t know why Galliani said they have big plans for him… Sad

Giancarlo

There is definite need for Tevez. Why? Because we lost Ca*ssano. You know what’s sad? People rating my post down because they simply don’t like what I have to say. It’s sick. This thing has to go period. -5 for what? There is plenty of room for Tevez.

greg

I can’t help but think of Giovinco, I really think he could have been a world beater but Juve held him back, now he’s 24 and should have been at the level he is currently at for the past five years. Look at Mario Gotze, he’s not any more talented than Giovinco but he is already better known and he’s only 19! This certainly isn’t a problem exclusive to Milan, I think teams in Italy favour experience over raw talent, remember Balotelli was never a regular for Inter even though he was clearly better than Adriano or Pandev. It’s hard… Read more »

Giancarlo

Tevez is a world cla*ss player… come on now.

greg

no arguments there, I just wanted to say my piece

Sammy

Next season will be good. Didac Vila is a good LB and showed his worth in U21 with Spain. Merkel has played a lot lately and has improved well, taking him back is more preferable because he is a midfielder and SES is in attack with will fight the newcomer in likes of Tevez. Thats not a suitable for SES to grow as a player. If Taiwo gets sold a believe Didac is the natural choice to go. And having Raiola as an agent is a boost. SES needs time to play and maybe Milan isn’t the right environment for… Read more »

Kaka

now that the fixtures in the league are a bit easier, it would be good to play him more. from his appearances hes played pretty good. he even scored a good goal against udinese.

s.lord

i dnt knw wy milan alwys behav lyk dis.look at yoahan gorgurf wen we brougt hm we dnt giv him chanc to imprv den we loan him out witout bringin him back.lock at him now is word clss.dnt we give pato his own chance b4 improv or kaka.

Sheva7

That’s BS Maldini said that Gourcuff had a horrible attitude he was late in trainings he never gave it his all and he had lots of chances and he sucked so much i actually thought he was a defender and was like “OMG WHY IS A CENTRE-BACK ATTACKING!”.

ben

some of the reactions on here to this are a bit much, SES is uncertain about his future and all of a sudden we’re a retirement home.. abate, silva, aquilani, nocerino, boateng, pato are all young/prime years players, and allegri has gone leaps and bounds ahead of our previous coaches as far as giving younger players the chances. You guys are forgetting that SES has to compete with Ibra, Pato, Robinho, Cassano and Inzaghi for some game time.. this guys had a great season with padova, he’s not going to just walk into the starting lineup. He should stay, learn… Read more »

if we cnt have fait in our yout den wy do hav dem.look at emirick AUBAMEYANG in saint etienne*in french league 1.he’s so amazin dis year is dear key player,am sure milan wil 4gets him an sel im.did any1 ever heard of merssi in 2004.was’nt his dat brout hm up an bliv in hm b4 bcm word bes.milan, SES can also bcm wordcls only if we bliv in hm

greg

haha is that Willy Aubameyang? I’m from Scotland he played for Kilmarnock in our SPL for a while last season he was completely awful and wasn’t even a regular, just to be clear, Kilmarnock are a mid-table SPL side.

Sheva7

No he’s not he has been garbage in Ligue 1 i hope we sell him.

Ted

I don’t understand, we have so many talented young players out on loan including attackers. They wanna say they are not reliable? Sounds to me they just want fast results and not that “rejuvenation” they talked about… Sad. El Shaarawy>Tevez anytime!

Giancarlo

Is that so? Tevez is a world cla*ss player in his prime. You don’t pas*s up a player like that. Get with the program.

2KPB7

ya thats crazy tevez scored like 20 goals last year in the EPL and if he does not cause problems he is world class

Ted

World clas*s? I Agree. We need him? No. I do not care about the program boy i can have my own opinion and u can disagree with me for thousand times, it will still be the same

sander

milan is so good in case to neglect a potensial player. Allegri still has the same problem with ancelotti, never trust the young one.

Giancarlo

Is that so? Allegri isn’t anything like Ancelotti. Period. He did give Merkel and Stras*ser chances. And he also integrated players like Nocer*ino, Aquilani, Abate and others right into the squad. Abate was there before, but improved greatly. I think Allegri likes players in their prime 24-28 the best. And I can’t blame him. But he has given many chances to young players.

Massimo

Guys, Allegri dan Galliani very know about the player coz everyday always see the player. Unlike us, we just know about the player just from news or internet. We should believe in Allegri dan Galliani.
This news come from agent, not the player, coach or CEO. Every agent will increase the player value. So, it’s not 100% true news.
Forza Milan…

TWF

i do hope that SES will stay at milan and fight for starting XI spot. what a waste of money if milan don’t use his services. give SES more playing time, please.

acorn

abate, was first at brescia nd at empoli, even tho he was a milan youth player at first, but he only made a proper stayed appearance last season, same with pato, we only started taking note of him after sheva left
