THE FIGC will decide whether Milan will be able to make a swoop for Ganso.
The Italian federation, FIGC, will meet next Tuesday (28/6/11) to decide whether Italian teams will have the option to sign two players who don’t have a European passport – or keep the rule the way it is today.
Many clubs and fans have complained that this law hurts Italian teams’ chances to succeed in Europe and should the FIGC change the rule it will be great news for Milan who will be then able to sign Ganso.

Paulo Henrique Ganso is Brazilian and is considered a non-EU player, however, with the current law, Milan can sign only one player of this category and have already used their slot to sign the Nigerian Taye Taiwo.
While Taiwo is allowed to get a French passport, Milan are hopeful that the FIGC will change the rule so they could make a swoop for Ganso – who has been a target of the Rossoneri for over than two years now.
The 21-year-old will play the second leg of the Copa Libertadores final with Santos this week. He’s part of the Brazilian squad for the Copa America; this squad consists of Robinho, Thiago Silva and Alex Pato.

Probably wishful thinking, but it is how I would like to see things shake out. Could even put Boateng on the left, put MVB in the middle and alternate Ganso/El-Shaarawy.

You may be right on the LCM part, but we still need a cam. Ibra as a trequartista? Horrible idea. He’s a striker. He doesn’t have the speed for being a trequartista… that’s not his role. That’s just some guys idea… I’ve never heard of Milan ever wanting to do that.

I’ve heard Ibra toted as a trearquista as well.
He does like to play behind Pato when they play together, and it may not be a stretch for him to work back there, although I think he would end up getting frustrated even more than he already does.
And if speed is a factor for your trearquista Giancarlo, Ganso is set to disappoint in that aspect.
I don’t think it would work because he doesn’t have the mobility to play in that role. He’s not a fast player.
not sayin ibra would be great at CAM,but to say he is too slow is pointless considering ganso is slower then ibra or around the same speed.ibra could actually play there, he the thiago silva of attack(not as good in big games though),he can play anywhere in attack.still prefer ganso though,just saying…
If we get ganso as an ACM, then we have Prince that can play LCM, all though i prefer hamsik there giving the midfield more creativity.

Santos reduced his price tag to 30 million… but that can still leave some room to negotiate perhaps to 25 million.
Lets hope so Giancarlo, he looks the real deal.

All jokes aside, I would like to see this signing happen even with Al-Shaarawy signed. It will be nice to blend the experience of some of our midfield with some younger creative attackers. In my opinion it would benefit the youngsters to learn under Seedorf/Ambrosini/Gattuso for a year or two.
he’s the best trequarista of his era. Wonderful ball control, good vision, accurate shots and great technique. All these attributes just at 21 he is just what we need. GRAZIE MILAN.

Hopeful they will change this rule along with some of the tax rules as well. So that Serie A teams can be more competitive in the transfer market. Serie A needs new stadiums as well. A project similar to the Bundesliga would be great for Serie A!

No he’s not. And while he has had fitness problems, he has one of the best goal scoring ratios in Italy. Just look at the figures. I’ve criticized the guy plenty… I wished he would track back more… but he’s not replaceable.
