AXEL WITSEL seems to close to the Rossoneri despite reports that Milan decided not to sign him.
Reports in Italy suggested this morning that Milan decided to pass on the chance to sign Standard Liège midfielder Axel Witsel but the Belgian press reports the contrary, as in fact, Witsel is close to Milan.

Did any of you watch the Turkey/Belgium game? I did and Witsel is not a Milan quality player. He is lazy, doesn’t make any attempt to defend, passing is poor, likes to play with the ball at his feet going nowhere, and just drifts around not seeming to know where to be or what to do. He is half the player that Hazard is, if it wasn’t for his hair style and a simply awful PK you would hardly have known he was out there. Yeah I did see it, and I think Witsel was quite good offensively. Lazy? Witsel? I think not. He’s had a really good season. He’s definitely Milan quality and we should move for him. It’s not good to pass judgment based on one PK miss.

A little agree with Gattuso’s case. Otherwise you just didn’t know Pirlo and Basten (if you indicated Bomen then even now I am not convinced he is Milan quality). Pirlo didn’t even play for Inter and he costed us more than 15m at that time when transfer fee had not been inflated. Basten scored nearly a goal a game before joining Milan, just as Ronaldo (the real one) did.

This signing would be all very well if Gattuso and/or Flamini were to leave, so he could play as a squad player for a season to learn and fit in before taking over as our DMF. I think i’d like someone else for the LMF role so i hope thats not the position they have planned for him. Witsel is A Very good player, especially at that age. He’s only 22. He still has alot to improve on. He’s pretty quick aswell. LOL i was suprised. If he can get used to playing in that LCM role. then he would be great, because he’ll be playing with GREAT players.

Witsel is much younger than Onyewu, and he’s much more talented. I can name several players that came from these lesser leagues that did well. It’s not fair to Witsel to compare him to the 28/29 year old Onyewu.
We need a real AM. We don’t have one. I think people should stop saying Cassano or Robinho. They are second strikers… a real attacking midfielder is Lamela, Ganso, etc.

@ giancarlo, you didn’t get what i wrote. i just want to say that both onyewu and witsel are from the same club, i.e.: standard liege. i don’t compare them based on their age or position. i just don’t want to see witsel struggling to get starting XI position in milan, just like onyewu.
I don’t see why he should. These players are being tracked by other teams too. Onyewu was not. Witsel is linked to other teams like Arsenal and chelsea.

I knew Stan-liege wouldn’t let Witsel go for 8million euros. It said on SKY SPORTS that the bid which Milan made was less than what Stan-Liege want for him. I reckon They want around 14million euro’s for him. And Milan probably bidded around 8million euros. If Milan can get Witsel for 10-12million euros(£7-8million), then i’d be pretty happy. FORZA MILAN. I hope Milan get the big ‘STAR’ Player though.
