I think Boateng should stay put behind two strikers, but that’s just me. If Allegri tries him out in midfield that’ll be fine. By the way, when Seedorf has played behind two strikers he has done well too.

Could you please point out specific instances in which Seedorf in the Trearquista role has worked? I’m coming up blank.

The only game I ran remember where Dorf played well as the Trequartista, was against Inter, in the FIRST Milan derby, earlier in the season. Apart from that he’s been very poor as the TQ. His performances against Spurs was laughable.
However he has succeeded in a deeper position, alah Pirlo.
The second leg against the Spurs, Seedorf was actually great. You just don’t seem to have the slightest clue. We’re short of midfielders.
Seedorf wasn’t the TQ against Spurs, Boateng was.
Seedorf plays like crap behind two strikers.
Since we do have a lack of midfielders I might suggest the unconventional.

I suggest moving Thiago Silva into position of midfield. He did this before effectively. It might work here again. Yepes and Nesta in central defense. This is a way we could rest Seedorf.
This is assuming that Pato is fit and ready to go.

Ancelotti did 4-3-2-1, not 4-2-3-1… that formation won’t work. We need to stick to 4-3-1-2.

This is probably what Allegri will play… and seems to be the most balanced midfield. My suggestion above was one on a whim… perhaps Thiago Silva will be best to stay in defense.
