AC MILAN would be interested in signing Davide Astori this summer, reports in the peninsula suggest.
According to a report on Milannews.it, AC Milan’s directors are seriously thinking about bringing Davide Astori back from Cagliari when the transfer window reopens this summer.
Milan have reportedly signed Philippe Mexes on a free transfer but the player will be available only from next October as he’s dealing with an injury so they would like to sign another defender.
Masters of their own destiny
Report: Milan to sell Ibrahimovic in order to make room for Cristiano Ronaldo
The 24-year-old is having a great season in Sardinia, and his good performances haven’t gone unnoticed as even Italy coach Cesare Prandelli gave the player his national debut a couple of weeks ago.
Astori is tracked by Roma and Juve but has never hidden the fact that he would like to return to Milan. He has recently said that Milan and Cagliari will decide his future as he’s co-owned by the two clubs.
baby comes 2us.
one of the best and most realistic transfer news i’ve heard
gr8 astori and mexes in legrotile and bonera out then just one quality LB in and the defence is COMPLETE!
We need to start bringing up our own talent. . . Can’t let guys like him/ paloschi/matri and others c.ntinue to leave. . .
About time!!!
Mexes injury is a blessing in disguise. I’ve always preferred Astori. This is great news! Now lets get rid of Bonera, and loan Skoratis. If Mexes and Astori come we will have too much defenders; Nesta, Silva, Legrotaglie, Yepes, Bonera, Skoratis plus Mexes and Astori if they. At least two or three will have to leave!
sweet! he’s coming home to show daddy what he learned! i imagine nesta will have a more limited role next season to spare his body a bit.. silva and mexes/astori will probably be the main cb pairing, with nesta the first option in rotation. not a bad deal! bonera, legro out.. sokratis on loan.. yepes should have been a 1 year contract in the first place but he has done well when called upon.. if we get any offers for him though, he should be sold..
abate/oddo, silva/nesta, mexes/astori, taiwo/zambro.. yepes(albertazzi), sokratis and antonini(can play both flanks) as 3rd options
i hope the news will become a reality and astori can perform very well in milan next season. milan need to find the right position for sokratis and antonini if taye taiwo is signed this summer. promote giancomo beretta or verdi to th first team and sign eden hazard. i think milan can save money by sending back ibra to barca and selling pirlo if pirlo doesn’t want to renew th contract. having hazard in milan, i think allegri can complete the puzzle for AM role. i prefer hazard than robben. robben is fantastic but he is not young anymore… Read more »
Astori, Mexes in, Legrottaglie and Yepes (if he is wanted) out. Perhaps, if Albertazzi gets a role, Sokratis will be loaned. If this is true, I’m happy. Now, let’s turn to the LB place. Janku leaves, Antonini is not good enough, Zambrotta is ageing, and Emanuelson is not the perfect solution in that position. Taiwo, Criscito, Coentrao, and Cissokho are the options i’ve heard.
What about Ganso?
Seems to me, Galliani started the hunt.
ASTORI…ASTORI…ASTORI !!!!
the most realistic CB for now :D
abate—nesta/astori—TS—??????
i would love to see nesta tutoring astori.
i think nesta could play for at least one season.
now galliani must searching for LB,and i think cisokho/taiwo/mimmo are suitable player for milan’s tactic. so next season,we can conquer the world (again).
abate/???—nesta/mexes–silva/astori—taiwo/emmanuelson/albertazzi
More Italian more good, more home-ground players more good. I can’t stand with the fact that Inter has more Italian national player than Milan.

with astori & mexes,cb problem’s solved, but milan needs a skilful and strong lb,like coentrao, then sell ibra and bring in neymar & ganso
WELCOME BACK, ASTORI..!
with astori, mexes, ganso, and taiwo that’s a lot enough for next season. but i think Milan still needs a strong goalkeeper. and Neuer will be great for Milan, i think. any suggestion, guys?
i sense another great transfer campaign from galliani.if taiwo and mexes come for free, and maybe even astori then the b ackline would be very good.then we could push alll efforts for ganso it seems.maybe the sale of flamini would help fund the move since we dont have to spend much on anyone else.
I agree with everybody here. Astori is a very good competent defender. He’s not world class, but we already have thiago Silva. I think Silva can teach Astori a few things… and the two can be a stellar CB pairing. Don’t make no mistake… Astori isn’t a Nesta… but I still like him.
Taiwo-Silva-Nesta-Abate :D Astori 1st back up but what about yepes and papa?
I think Astori is the best option for Nesta’s position.
