THIAGO SILVA has spoken about the derby and the market in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Here is the translated interview. You can find the original on La Gazzetta’s website.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not be in the derby.
“It’s a big blow, needless to hide it. Ibra is a champion, he makes the difference. It is not a player who can be easily replaced.”
Report: Milan set sights on Fluminense defender Gum
Zambrotta to play with the Primavera today
Someone will have to try.
“I bet on Pato. You see, he’ll make us win the derby. Unfortunately he had to leave the Seleçao squad because he has an ankle problem. But he will heal quickly. Ibra will be replaced by Pato and we will not regret.”
Will the derby decide the Scudetto race?
“I want to beat Inter. Then, we’ll do the math but no result will award the title. Everyone is always talking about Milan and Inter. I say: beware of Naples. Mazzarri’s team now are a true rival.”
Who are you most afraid from at Inter?
“I do not like the word fear. I’m not afraid of anybody at Inter.”
Who are the opponents you mustn’t lose sights of?
“Eto’o. He is one of the strongest players in the world. He has speed, class, sense of goal. And then I say Sneijder. You know why?”
Why?
“He takes the free-kicks fantastically. Valuable weapon for Inter.”
In the derby the opponent will be Leonardo.
“I owe him a lot. Leonardo was very important in my career. Now I will tell you a little secret.”
Please.
“Before signing for Milan, I was in negotiations with Inter. Well, Leonardo started calling me on the phone. He talked about the team, Milanello and my future. After a few weeks of this, I slammed the door on Inter and signed for Milan.”
A little like what he’s doing with Ganso these days.
“Unfortunately, it won’t be easy to convince Ganso to turn down Inter with Leonardo there. He always has the right words.”
Who will score the decisive goal in the derby?
“And if I were to surprise everyone? Maybe I could shock Julio Cesar with a header. This is my challenge to Inter.”

What Silva said regarding Leonardo’s influence on players is important and scary. I hope we beat Inter on the derby and winning Ganso’s contract. Forza Milan
Silvio shouldnt have let LEO go : He would have helped MILAN in recruiting talents and motivating class Brazilian players, If he didnt like him as a coach ,he should have atleast been nice to him and provided an important job in the club, by doing that Everybody WINS!!!! , Along with LEO MIlan lost a few other things, we will know them shortly….
I like the last one ….
Is Brasil is the only place where Milan looking for players ???
@Anil:
No. But, Brazil is the best place of special talents.
Anytime Pato trains separately like the one he did before Napoli, his games get higher, i hope he will be a threat for the Inter defense and also it’s Inter that’s most under pressure.
