ROBINHO is hopeful that Milan can overturn their home defeat and qualify for the next round.
Milan have a very difficult mission on Wednesday – to overturn a home defeat to Tottenham and go through the next stage of the Champions League.
It will be very difficult, Milan forward, Robinho, believes that the Rossoneri can beat Harry Redknapp’s boys at the White Hart Lane stadium.
Week 28 in Serie A: Results & Standings
Kevin-Prince Boateng injury update
“I honestly believe we can win in England. Our goal is to comeback from England having qualified for the next round of the Champions League,” the Brazilian told the official website on UEFA.
Binho believes they must be focused: “We will have to change our attitude and be even more focused. If we concede a goal things will become even more difficult, but anything can happen in football.”
Peter Crouch punished Milan late in the game and gave the English side a very important away goal.
The former Man City man added: “Unfortunately, we lost the home leg in a difficult match. And we conceded a goal when we were playing better. But that does not mean we cannot win there. They play in a different way, focusing on physical strength, plenty of crosses into the box. I think they will play exactly the same way again.”
Binho has never won the UCL and he hopes to win it with Milan: “It is a great competition and unfortunately I haven’t had the opportunity to win it. So I hope to become a European champion here with Milan. It is a competition I love playing in, a difficult one, the toughest in European football. We hope to win it this season.”

NO! Wrong robinho, we HAVE to win in england. Losing to manchester united is one thing, but tottenham? Im not underestimating spurs.
But wow, spurs will talk about their win for 10 years if they win. They wont remember our situation which pretty much are handicap.
You better work hard and improve your finishing then. Yeah we can do it with the right attitude and determination. Forza Milan.
I really do think Milan can do it…It will be a spectacular performance by abate nesta silva pato and ibra….(i’m calling those out) merkel will do well and so will seedorf for a while…
Comeon milan u can do it. FORZA MILLAANOO.
Not without a midfield.
happy b-day to Flama!
dat is wat everybody said last season wen man utd won us at san siro dat we will go to old trafford and beat them, so wat happened? they trashed us. now dat prince will not play we only have flamini, merkel nd strasser. Milan shld just try and win d scudetto and shld pray d defeat on wednesday will nt be a very big margin like 4-0.
@Aliyu
Spurs are no Man U, specially their form last year, and the squad this year is definitely much better, I ain’t gonna lie, it will be extremely tough, but we have what it takes to go through. Oh and many players are ineligible\suspended\injured etc.. now, unlike last year, if that wasn’t the case, the match would have been settled at the San Siro.
who cares what Robinho wants to say , we are all here to listen to GIANCARLO’s opinions coz thats what matters most.
@ aliyu
You know what, I actually just watched that 4-0 Man United game recently. I could not believe how different our team is this season. The front 3 were Dinho, Huntelaar, and Borriello, They were terrible that game. Compared to Ibra, Binho & Pato this season. Defense was Silva, Janku, Bonera and Ambrosini due to injuries. Midfield was Flamini, Abate & Pirlo. Subs used were Seedorf, Beckham & Inzaghi.
I could believe how different and better our team looks this season. Man United was so much better than us last year.
I didn’t even post here, PJ (using Berlusconi as user name). I wonder if this problem child was beaten up by his parents.
Spurs have a poor defense, although they have an exelent GK. Their attack is not so effective, their strength resides with Bale, Moderic, and Lennon mainly. We have an excellent defense with our star dual with Abbiati behind them, our attack is strong but this is subject to who can deliver to them the ball in the right time and place. If our backs can top Bale and Lennon, and our MDs can deliver the ball right to Ibra and Pato with an exilent finish then everything is possible. If Robinho performs well, can deliver the ball or can desiesive… Read more »
Lack of a midfield..
Forgot about Merkel, he is creative so let’s hope he can support the attack by creating some excellent chances. FORZA MILAN
@Giancarlo
Calm down, its not worth it. Lets stay united instead, the game is soo close now. No time for bullshit fights.
Lets fight the war at WLH
I’m more uneasy about this game, then I was about Napoli or Juventus. At least we won those. I’m not sure if Huerelho Gomes is a good goalkeeper… he makes huge blunders. All I want to see is us put up a fight. They are not invincible at home, no matter what anyone says. Merkel should play. Galliani said Merkel should play too. I think it’s a good idea! http://www.milannews.it/?action=read&idnotizia=47100 Though he said start Seedorf. I don’t think we should… he said we should start Flamini and Merkel… so that’s obvious. I think maybe… Sokratis should start in midfield too…… Read more »
So that means Sedorf will play as AMD and Rominho as sub?! If Sedorf is ready for this match then he can do something but I doubt though. Some times Sedorf playes as a youngster and other times looks like he needs to be pushed on a wheel chair. Let’s hope for the best anyways and see what happens. FORZA MILAN
All of u shld listen, Milan is not going to win dis match. So is beta they shld just prepare for scudetto. By the way seedorf should not even be in the starting eleven nor on the bench. And please the coach should not put t.silva in midfield if they will out run our full backs and cross the ball to crouch. I just hope a miracle should happen in dis match. Pato just try and do your best.
Milano Q8, I think we should play Robinho because he tracks back… and does defensive work too. It’s why I like him so much. Seedorf does track back but adds little to attack, especially if he plays poorly. It was just a suggestion by Galliani. I don’t know what Allegri will do. I suggest Merkel. I think it’s time to gamble.
Giancarlo, just wanted to know if you use goal.com
i have seen your comments and value them very much, he is the
only blogger who actually evaluates the current situation
:)
Forza Milan!
Vinci per noi!
Giancarlo, I would expect Robinho cause he’s faster, he can run back and forth quicker. I disagree with you on Sedorf upfront, he can good and desiesive upfront both in crating chances and a strong kick. He has done it before but he is not the same old Sedorf thus very slow, tracks back yes but too slow very riscky. Rather have Robinho too but hope he can be desiesive up front this time. Most of the presure will be on Abate and Janku. Agree on Merkel he should start gaining experiance. @Aliyu – Thank you for your suggestion,… Read more »
i miss that WHT guy, the spurs fan that was always here for no good reason. one thing everybody forgot to tell him is to put draws against milan in a perspective. Spurs may qualify for the next round but that is that this season is first and probably the last when a CL flag will be put on White Heart Lane, they actually call it three point lane in england :) so yeah many big teams slip up, real madrid cant do anything with the french for past three years or so. barca have to loose to donetsk or… Read more »
Whatever formation we use, we are not going to win this game. SPUDS are superfast and they are at home. I wuld b happy if we put up a strong show came back with a draw.
to VIr > FUck you
Guys, Prince trained today with the squad and COULD be available for tomorrow!!
Thats according to Milannews. What a boost that could be, we could have a much better chance to overtake Spurs:
——————————-ABBIATI——————————-
———————–NESTA————SILVA————————
–ABATE——————————————————-JANKU–
——————————-FLAMINI——————————-
———–BOATENG——————————-MERKEL————–
——————————-ROBINHO——————————-
———————-IBRA—————-PATO———————–
And we don’t want to risk a youngster (Merkel), Janku could be pushed into midfield instead, deploying Zambrotta or Antonini as LB. Another option is Sokratis instead of Flamini, pushing Flamini to LM. I really hope its true and that he plays tomorrow.
FORZA MILAN!
The squad called up:
Abbiati, Amelia, Roma, Abate, Antonini, Bonera, Jankulovski, Legrottaglie, Nesta, Oddo, Papastathopoulos, Thiago Silva, Zambrotta, Yepes, BOATENG, Flamini, Merkel, Seedorf, Strasser, Ibrahimovic, Pato, Robinho.
Antonini is back as i read. He’ll probably start cause he’s faster then Janku. If Boateng will play then we have good mid but if not Janku will probably start in mid. I would prefer Papa in mid cause he’s strong in legs back there (he overplayed Messi in WC). Merkel should play he’s the only fast and creative player we have in mid right now. Hope Allegri has faith in him cause he’s the only one who could provide good balls to Binho and when is the best time to get CL experiences if not now. What’s most important… Read more »
@SupaPippo
Antonini may be faster but not better than Janku, as we saw in the last 2 games. Lennon really gave him a lesson in the first leg, and maybe Janku\Zambrotta is a better option.
Zambrotta is actually the best option. He’s the best defensively… and he can still cross way better than Antonini and Jankulovski. But his match fitness is a big question. He hasn’t played in months.
Lennon will roast any of our old/crusty left backs.
He won’t get pass Zambrotta.
He will with ease..take into account, that zambrotta hasn’t played in months..he has no match fitness.
it could get nasty…lol.
Wishful thinking.
