URBY EMANUELSON will join Milan in the summer according to the latest reports.
Reports in Italy and in the Netherlands suggest that Milan are close to find an agreement with Ajax’s 24-year-old left wingback Urby Emanuelson.
The Dutch international’s contract expires at the end of the season and Milan would sign him on free agent. The Dutch media reports that the player has already confirmed his arrival to the via Turati club.

The Rossoneri failed to sign Reto Ziegler from Sampdoria and Domenico Criscito from Genoa, so they looked overseas and decided to move for Urby.
A move is likely to take place in June but there are voices that Milan and Ajax are working on agreement that will see the cup-tied player joining Milan already in the winter transfer window.
Updates: (11:50 CET) Adriano Galliani has commented on these reports, confiming Milan’s interest: “If Emanuelson arrives then our mercato is closed.”
(12:08 CET): Emanuelson confirmed the move: “Obviously I would have liked to stay at Ajax until the end of the season and win the championship, but this is a possibility that you can not reject.”

Emanuelson is a good player but i’d much rather see milan use Albertazzi or Devito for LB and show that you can make players become world class from the youth team.
Some has already change Urby’s current club in Wikipedia. It said AC Milan :D

Emanuelson is good, but he’s almost the same as Gareth Bale, most suited to the Left Midfield or Left Wing because they don’t defend that well and their attributes are best used higher up the pitch. Besides, he’s cup tied, i wouldn’t want to see Bonera play at Left Back in the Champions League. Proper Left Back and not cup tied please.
he’s the best candidate for left back so far. known for his pace and dribbling, this guy is quite a goal scorer. get him!
Well, I believe he is an ideal player that no one will say no to, he will be perfect when we are are on attack mode. But can he really defend too? If yes then perfect, if not then we need an additional player LB when we are on defend mode. He is right – you cannot turn down Milan!!! I don’t know why some of you are compalining about this signing – this guy is better than Albertazzi or Devito. Milan youngsters are good too but they are not Milan first team material.Strasser, Merkel etc are good for the bench maybe. Milan is a top club and needs only top players..
actually he is a lot better than Criscito, who is infact very average. i knnow most of you wanted Criscito but Emamanuelson is incredible.. the recent game need fullbacks with pace and dribbling (alves, man utd’s rafael, capdevilla, sergio ramos, marcelo, bastos,ashley cole maicon and even bale of last season) this is a really good move.
Anyone who Milan sign ,immediately fans started claiming that he is suitable for Milan he is great and he is like that and like this. One should understand that the coach makes the decision of whom to play where and when. ur totally right. I mean we need o be saved all were going to win is the scudetto. were only in first place. we have played mo exciting games other then the ones against Madrid the second best team on earth and inter and even udinese last week. who are we kidding how can MILAN beat tottenham. that’s a joke we don’t stand a chance bale is as good as messi. plus why is allegri not making subs when our whole midfield is injured. EMANUELSON is a Milan player it’s official, he is coming in Julay based on Goal.com. But what are we going to do in Jan??? By the way EMANUELSON is cup teid. Gongradulation all on signing s grate player thank you Galliani but we demand more players Forza Milan.
Emanuelson is fantastic going forward but he’s horrible as a defender…I hope people can realize that…If he’s played as a defender, then Mian will have to play with 5 defenders!
Funny some find ways to complain. Emanuelson is a capable defender but superb in attack. I think Galliani will try to get him now rather then july. I doubt those who say he is horrible defensively have ever seen him play. Hes way better than Ziegler and puts De Vito and Albertazzi to shame. Hes well sought after by many Premier league and Liga teams.

Given that I’m also an Ajax fan, I endured a lot from Emanuelson I know what I’m talking about…they used to play him in defense, but he pulled a lot so many Antinini’s that they made him play in midfield. Obviously I hope he’s much more improved, but we can’t say for sure…it’s a gamble…that’s all I’m saying!
It seems to me Milan aren’t serious about Champions League this season . They are just trying to dethrone Inter from Serie A crown , But as a true Rossoneri fan like all our priority should always be Champions league . I just can’t simply see Antonini/bonera filling up the the left back role and winning CL . And I’ve seen players like Criscito make horrible blunders. And Ziegler doesn’t defend. So what are you saying exactly? We shouldn’t take a gamble? It is said we are going to get him this winter for around 2 million euros. How much of a gamble is that? The difference here is he’s 5 years younger than Antonini. So not a good comparison at all. We may end up playing this guy in midfield as we need a player like this… and still look for another for defense. Galliani said he will play in midfield…
This guy is like Marcelo, Abate, Serginho, Adriano of Barcelona and Jankulovski in style. He can play left back but he needs to improve there – which he certainly will at Milan! He is fast and scores goals as well, he is very versatile and can play midfield and even wing forward as well as left back and now he just needs to make the step up in a big club, which he will. Its a very good investment, especially rumoured to be 1.5 million.
@Milan and emanuel :milan is playin bad gettin results and still lead the serie a if milan play great and win its still the same 3points, this team still has alot of improving to do . On emanuelson he’s a ver good player fast,skillful and can score goals yes he needs to work on his defense in the serie a but look at it last season abate made alot of mistakes now look he’s been a revelation this season so give emanuelson a chance stop crying him down.

Anyways Milan are trying to concentrate on Winning the Scudetto. Champions will be next. That’s the mentality they started with the season.

Galliani is trying to get him now. The small fee they would pay would be to free him from Ajax. Else Milan will just secure his contract for summer and will be free at no cost.

I agree with that, all I’m saying is we shouldn’t count on him as a left back. Like you said they should still look for someone for a more defensive role.
What bothers me is that today Allegri was saying he’s considering playing Emanuelson at LB…and that’s the kind of gamble I’m talking about!
If Emanuelson isnt great at LB we can make him great in that position – look at Abate ! We are MILAN ffs !!
I clearly remember saying Allegri said that he is mostly a midfielder who can play as a leftback, but he would prefer him as a midfielder. That’s what Allegri said. However, as I said before, Abate was a liability in RB, but look at him now. I think Emanuelson could learn.
Guys this is an improvement, okay? If u compare Milan without Emanuelson and Milan with Emanuelson please click like if prefer with Emanuelson version. Im sure all of you do, besides, he is young, a good investment, plenty of room to grow and i just can’t see one drawback aside from inability to play in CL. We need to buy growing talents now, not finished articles! If they grow with us they will cost less and be a good investment for the future. Obvioasly Milan are focusing on winning the Scudito this year which is about time. But we can still Winn the CL with the proper re-inforsment. We should keep our hopes up in winning the CL this year too. Galliani says he will be a reinforcement for the midfield primarily, with the capabilities to play as a left back. Seems Galliani still wants a left back, at least that’s what the press are hoping for.
At first I thought that he is really too offensive-minded for a left-back, but then I thought again – Maldini, Serginho, Jankulovski – they were all known for their ability not just to defend, but strongly support the attack too (even though Maldini is in a class of his own, of course). So cheers to Galliani for another mastermind transfer!
how is this guy any worse of a defender then dani alves or kolarov or coentrao or Marcelo. the modern game requires attacking fullbacks and let’s not forget we play with three bulldog mids a lot so that houl help out. look at it this way Emanuelson was schooled as a defender and moved up to winger but abate didn’t have any expirience and he’s doing fine. let him work with tassotti for some private sessions and he’ll be fine. by the way silva33 I was being sarcastic.

ok he is a good player, Firstly wait for him to start train with Milan and then let him play some competitve games and then everyone can judge him. Galliani got him because he is cheap , How does the coach play him and the player adapting to the Milan environment and Serie A is yet to begin . To WAIT is what the only thing you can do.
