Onyewu could leave Milan in January

OGUCHI ONYEWU might leave AC Milan.

With only one official appearance since his arrival to Milan two years ago (against FC Zurich in the Champions League), the future of Onyewu seems too be far away from the Rossoneri.

The American fails time after time to make it to the squad of Massimiliano Allegri, and in the last time he was in the headlines, it was because of a training bust-up with Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Balotelli: ‘I will play for Milan sooner or later’

Palermo and A.S. Bari, Basel, and Gooch’s former side, Standard Liege are also said to be tracking him. A loan move in January is also an option.

The 28-year-old center-back couldn’t play much last season because of an injury that kept him out for the entire season.

We should loan him out for the rest of the season (preferably to an italian team) – if he plays well, take him back and give him a serious chance, if he doesn’t perform just sell him…

Gooch did not play well during the WC which is why he was benched by Bradley for the 3rd and 4th games the US played. I can say I’ve never been a fan and I was hoping that his time in Milan would lead to improvement but has probably only stagnated his growth further.

Onyewu did not play well at the World Cup. Let’s get that right! The last tournament he played well in was the FIFA Confederations Cup!I’m really getting annoyed by folks saying he played well in the World Cup, that is absolutely not true. Jay Demerit is better and he played well. I would have preferred Demerit at Milan rather than Onyewu! However, I believe Milan made a mistake signing Onyewu just as they did with signing Bonera and Skoratis. These type of players are not quality defenders and I hope Milan will stop this trend. There are a lot of… Read more »

Isn’t it quiet obvious that Onyewu is better than Bonera, Sokratis, and Yepes? If only Allegri frickin new anything but now he thinks that he’s the shit because he’s top of the table although the only reason for that is because he lines up ultra defensive against all the small teams and grinds out a boring win and because every other big team in Italy is playing horribly.

I forgot to include Dominico Criscito on the list of best defenders in Serie A.

to say what i always say about this guy, he has power, height, presence.. but no TACTICAL AWARENESS! The reason italian style defending is legendary is not because they are fast and strong but because they know where to be and they anticipate play brilliantly (at least most of them do) this guy just doesn’t have it, i think a loan move to another serie a team would be best.

Regarding Gooch’s play in South Africa, the guy was still recovering from his knee injury and still was not fit. We all know that he can play and that the World Cup was not a true sample. That being said, I agree that we the idea of loaning him out for the remainder of the season with the option for the club in which he is loaned to have a buy out. This would give us an opportunity to see if he has what it takes to hang in Serie A. I honestly think he should have been given a… Read more »
