Roma forced to play with Doni against Milan

ROMA are forced to use their third-choice goalkeeper on Saturday against AC Milan.

The Giallorossi have lost their two prime goalkeepers to injury – Julio Sergio and Bogdan LobonÅ£, and will be forced to play with their third-choice ‘keeper, Alexander Doni.

Doni was a first-choice during Luciano Spalletti’s time at Roma, but since the arrival of Claudio Ranieri, Doni has found very little space.

The Lupi take on Milan at Stadio San Siro on Saturday, and Doni will make his first start this season; he played on Sunday as a substitute when Roma defeated Bari 1-0.

Ranieri will play his regular aces against the Rossoneri, such as Philippe Mexès, Daniele De Rossi, Jeremy Menez, Francesco Totti and of course, Marco Borriello.

hehehehehehe……..this match up gonna be tough !! hope ac milan comes out as victors !!!!

ben

its funny how they say “forced”

Alessandro

This article somehow underestimates Doni. I think if he is really that bad he would have never player as a first choice for Spelletti. Anyway, hopefully we are going to win!

Giancarlo

Doni has been in awful form ever since that injury he had. And he’s fallen down the ladder at Roma. Julio Sergio is easily Roma’s best keeper, then followed by Lobont (who is decent). Ibra has given Doni a torrid time in the past… will have to see what happens this weekend!

Chandler

I agree Giancarlo, but Roma have good defenders and I think the only way to score against a team like that is to play a dynamic CAM, and that means not Clarence Seedorf. If Allegri does what he did against Brescia and use Pirlo and Boateng in front of Ambrosini we should be good to go.

In the past Doni is a great GK, but i think that time already past for him. And yes Chandler, i’m sure Allegri will use the same formation when we trash Brescia and Bologna, minus Gattuso and Zambrotta of course. Hope whoever filled Gattuso roled will work as hard as him.

Btw, anyone in here know the schedule of Italian Cup? i thought this midweek we’re gonna play it, but there’s no new confirmation from Milan.
