THIAGO SILVA is knocked-out and Milan are reportedly looking to sign players to cover for him.
T. Silva sustained a knee injury during the game between Milan and Ajax. Some reports suggesting he will be out to 4-5 weeks, but other suggest 10 weeks, as nothing has been confirmed yet.
According to il Corriere dello Sport, this injury has changed Milan’s plans for January and they are in need for a center-back now who can play alongside Alessandro Nesta this season until Silva returns.

It appears that the dream is still Benfica’s David Luiz (23), who whom Thiago has great relationship. However, there is stiff competition from Manchester City, and there were reports last week that Luiz has chosen the City.
The Rome-based newspaper also suggested that Milan would be interested in Cagliari Clacio’s Davide Astori (23) and Michele Canini (25).

@lasse, I think you’re totally right. Wouldn’t make any sense for us to immediately seek a cb in January – totally flipping our Jan transfer plans if this injury were not serious. Also ,yesterday the Milan doc said the scan showed a lesion to the medial posterior meniscus on his right knee…. If that’s the case, he’ll be operated on arthroscopic-ally (aka, no long incisions for the surgeon to make,typically shorter recovery times); and extremely unlikely we see him back in under 3 months. Sirigu and Criscito to sign in the next two years too then we will have a refreshed defensive unit that can grow together.
Yepes has already proven his self as solid and if Onweyu is fit he is pretty solid himself but he may need work…and papa could still be worked harder
I think we should sell Onyewu to Palermo Oddo to Marseille, Bonera to some EPL team, Dinho to wherever. Maybe all those players can get us a CB.

Its right that he cant play in the champions league. But David Luiz will not only be for this season. He will be the future with silva in the defence.
But I think we shut think about Daniel Agger, he is 25. And when he isnt out, hes in top 10 best centrel defenders in the world. And he will not be expensive.

Davide Astori really is the only option, and thats not a bad thing cause he’s a fantastic player capable of greatness. David Luiz will be too expensive thats just what it is to it.

We should get David Luiz and with this we solve the problem of our defence, not just to replace Silva these games but he could be the best aleternative of Nesta who is 34 years old.
Sold Onyewu. Bring David Luiz, Jonathan, or Astori. From Primavera give Albertazzi a chance. The rest we can count on Yepes and Sokratis.
