Boateng: ‘We can beat everyone’

Allegri, were you angry in the day after the defeat in Madrid?
“I met the team, we talked about many things together and analyzed. It’s important to always have the same characteristics: enthusiasm, desire and wickedness.

Were you worried?
“No. I saw in the game with Real on the DVD and it confirmed what I saw on the field and what I said after in the press conference. Our tragedy (error) was in the first fifteen minutes. Not because our opponents were irresistible.”

You made them irresistible
“No, this is not true. Before scoring two goals, Real had only one shot, of Di Maria, and it went wide of Amelia. The truth is otherwise: we in the first 15 minutes sent 15 balls to Real, playing bad technically. We were wrong a lot; we are currently under construction. Then in the twenty five minutes after they scored, we created good chances. It’s also true that Real in the final had two chances and could make us the 3-0. Against Real, the team that was seen was a Milan who lost too many balls like they never did in their history. At halftime I was not convinced that we can get back into the game, but I had the conviction that I was just wrong. We can play with the same line-up against any opponent and I’m sure Milan can beat anyone.”

Milan have a lot of players that go out of contract: Inzaghi, Ambrosini, Seedorf, Ronaldinho. Can this affect the team?
“Now we think that our main objective is to win something important. When June arrives, we will put everything into question.“

About Ambrosini, when does he come back?
“I hope to get him back in time for Juventus.”

Can Lazio win the league?
“I think that eventually the worth (of the teams) will come out. The likes of Inter, Milan, Juve and Roma also, despite the current problems, are greater than those of Palermo, which is still a very good team, Napoli and Lazio, which impressed me in Bari, where they won against a great squad. They have the strength to wait for the opponent and not to concede and so they are never in trouble.”

Who is the best player in the league right now?
“Pastore has a fantastic year. Krasic is a pleasant surprise. Mauri is a good midfielder, he had two years of tarnish, but now he’s great.”

What do you think about you old team Cagliari?
“They have made 0-0 four times in the Italian championship and it is an unthinkable fact – even in recent years because there are so many goals in the last 15 minutes, when you’re less polished. The current calcio is so fast that last 10 minutes of play are now very important.”

A few minutes from the end of a game, with Milan in front, what are you screaming to your players?
“Not to lose the ball, ever. Against Genoa, we have risked and we almost lost in the last minute. Roma made a similar mistake against Inter and risked more than we did. When you win the game 1-0, and score 15-20 minutes from the end, there’s nothing to be ashamed of.”

Berlusconi also said that
“And he’s right.”
