CL preview: AFC Ajax-AC Milan

1

AFC AJAX will host AC Milan tomorrow night, when the clock points 20:45 at Amsterdam Arena.

The Dutch side is going very well in the league, and after losing to Real Madrid in the opening fixture of this year’s Champions League group stage, they will be seeking for a first victory.

Milan will be looking to continue to win, and it would not be easy, although Milan would claim the Rossoneri are favorites for this game.

Watch the highlights of the last game between the two.

Ajax are currently first in the Eredivisie, with 17 points out of 21, and their scoring run is very impressive too, as they have scored 20 goals already this season, while conceding only seven.

The Joden have lost only once since the season started, and it was in the Champions League, against Jose Mourinho’s Real Madrid, where Vurnon Anita scored an own goal, and Gonzalo Higuaín netted as well.

With World Cup stars like Luis Suarez, Gregory van der Wiel and Maarten Stekelenburg, Ajax can surely cause problems for the Rossoneri, and they know that they can beat Milan in front of their home crowd.

Ajax drew with Twente, as the goals of Mounir El Hamdaoui and Eyong Enoh were not to beat Netherlands’ current champions.

Ajax is maybe only a fancy name in these years, but they certainly have enough good players to counter the Rossoneri on Tuesday.

Star Man: Uruguay World Cup star Luis Suarez is Ajax’s star man for this match. The 23-year-old has already scored six goals this season for his side and he seems very sharp. As wearing the captain armband, Suarez will try to find il Diavolo’s net.

Injury List: Nicolas Lodeiro, Thimothee Atouba.

Squad List: Stekelenburg, Verhoeven, van der Wiel, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Anita, Enoh, Sulejmani, Eriksen, El Hamdaoui, de Jong, Emanuelson, Ooijer, Suarez, Lindgren, de Zeeuw, Oleguer, Jozefzoon.

AC Milan were maybe not brilliant against Genoa on Saturday, but they were very effective, as with one moment of magic, they managed to reach all three points.

It was not easy though, but it appears that there will be changes for Ajax. As example, Ronaldinho’s place is no longer certain, after the Brazilian failed to play his football in recent weeks, and Robinho could take his place.

Coach Massimiliano Allegri has told in the pre-match press conference that he could replace players and change things, and it would surely be interesting to see how Allegri would put his men on the pitch.

The Rossoneri are still very far from their best, but they are improving, and on Tuesday they will try to show that they can play even better, as Ajax are a stronger side than any team Milan played this season.

Star Man: Zlatan Ibrahimovic was very good on Saturday, especially in the second half. He managed to score the decisive goal and had an overall good match. He will be facing his ex-side, and he’s Milan’s most important man.

Injury List: Alexandre Pato, Massimo Ambrosini.

Squad List: Abbiati, Amelia, Roma; Antonini, Bonera, Jankulovski, Nesta, Papastathopoulos, Silva, Zambrotta, Yepes; Abate, Boateng, Flamini, Gattuso, Pirlo, Seedorf; Ibrahimovic, Inzaghi, Robinho, Ronaldinho.

Great preview. Milan can score to any team. But Milan must improve their defence
