CL preview: Milan-Auxerre

AC MILAN host AJ Auxerre on Wednesday, when the clock points 20:45 at Stadio San Siro.

The Rossoneri will try to shake off the 2-0 defeat to A.C. Cesena. Less than three points against this French side would be a huge disappointment.

AJA finished third last season, but they are having a nightmare start of the season and they will return to winning ways.

AC Milan are coming off a defeat to A.C. Cesena on Saturday night, and Massimiliano Allegri will be trying to come back to the right track on Wednesday against Axuerre on Wednesday.

The defense looked bad against the newly promoted side, as the absence of Alessandro Nesta was well-felt & Thiago Silva and Sokratis Papastathopoulos couldn’t cop with Cesena’s fast and unpredictable attack.

However, Silva and Papa have not been called-up, while Nesta has returned to the squad after a small injury he picked-up. But problems don’t stop in defense, also the midfield needs a serious shake.

Clarence Seedorf is set to return to the starting line-up alongside Andrea Pirlo and Massimo Ambrosini, leaving Kevin-Prince Boateng again on the bench, while Mathieu Flamini has been left out injured.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Alexandre Pato and Ronaldinho must work harder. Dinho failed to play on Saturday on the same fantastic way he played against Lecce, and it seems like Robinho might replace him in the starting XI.

MILAN SQUAD: Abbiati, Amelia, Roma, Antonini, Bonera, Nesta, Zambrotta, Yepes, Abate, Ambrosini, Boateng, Gattuso, Pirlo, Seedorf, Ibrahimovic, Inzaghi, Pato, Robinho, Ronaldinho.

AJ Auxerre finished third last term in Ligue 1, but the French side are having a horror start to the season, picking up only four points out of five matches.

Auxerre are definitely not a team to take lightly, as with fast and technical players like Walter Birsa and Ireneusz JeleÅ„, Auxerre have the tools to surprise Milan – we all remember what happened against FC Zurich.

AJA eliminated Luciano Spalletti’s Zenit St. Petersburg, beating them 2-0 on the second leg after losing one-nil to the Russian side away.

Auxerre have yet to win this season in league, as collecting all four points with draws. Jean Fernandez will be trying to get his side back on track with a victory over Milan, which will give a major mental boost to his men.

Roy Contout and Alexandre Licata are unavailable for Auxerre.

AUXERRE SQUAD: Riou – Hengbart, Coulibaly, Mignot, Berthod, Grichting – Dudka, Pedretti, Ndinga, Sammaritano, Birsa, Chafni, Langil – Le Tallec, Jelen, Quercia, Oliech.

I hope he plays either Seedorf or Boateng. It was a great mistake to put Gattuso ambrosini and Pirlo all at the same time. there was not attck from the midfield to support the strikers.

Ibra needs to man up and face the fact he is in another team and focus on the goals he promised to make.

Dinho needs to concentrate on the game and Pato needs to be just Pato the spectacle that he is.

Forza Milan let’s win, Inter tied.

Why re u saying boateng should be left on d bench. If dey really wnt d midfield 2 be strong dey need to subsitute ambrosini 4 prince. Why didnt d coach call montelogo. 4-1-2-3. Amelia, zambrotta, nesta, yepes, antonini, pirlo, boateng, seedorf, ronaldinho, pato, zlatan. He should subsitute seedorf nd put robinho later in d game so ronnie will come back to attack midfield. During d final 2 minutes he should bring inzaghi for zlatan so he could score nd gerard muller’s record. Forza milan.

Yeah, i hope Abate-Pirlo/Seedorf-Boateng will be a starter in this match. We need midfield who can defense but in the sametime they can attack too. And Allegri still have Strasser, but maybe he will use him in Catania match. But the most important is Milan players must respect the enemy (alway full alert with enemy’s ability). Forza Milan!

Black&Red

I just want to say that Milan should transfer Fabiano Santacroce, lets make an offer on January 5mln for him he could play in right and in center back. Also we should make an offer to Genoa about Criscito, 5mln+Sokratis. And our defence would be
Santacroce-Nesta-Silva-Criscito.

I Fear only clowns come here and post instead of good Footballing brains.A coach should be able to make all the players contribute towards the team.that makes a team good and special , this non sense of tellin the management whom to buy and why will never be satisfied, if Criscito makes a mistake then we shld buy Maicon!!!!!!Leo was actually way too good with the Milan team Last season ,he made them play wonderful
