GIOVANNI STROPPA is very disappointed.

AC Milan’s Primavera suffered a 5-0 defeat last night against Genoa in the Supercoppa Primavera. Gianmarco Zigoni and Richmond Boakye scored twice, as well as Diego Polenta.

Coach Stroppa showed his disappointment from the match. Here are parts from his interview:

So Mister, this evening we played one difficult match against a strong opponent. Scoring is the most important thing. We had some chances but we have not exploited properly.

“We believe that the fundamental thing, the key to everything we saw was in the first time when we created those three, four scoring chances that we failed to materialize. Beretta was one-on-one with the goalkeeper, then Verdi and Carmona … Frankly we’ve created, we tried to do his best. From there they scored two goals in a totally opposite to how we are working, there were both individual and departmental errors. We returned in the second half, trying to play our own game but after a minute we went in 3-0. Frankly it is difficult to comment, there were individual errors of a team, that seemed no longer able to stay in the field in a certain way.

Probably the third goal ended the match.

“Yes, then we got frayed, we could not stay on the field. We were unable to determine and to be proactive, as we know, as a team. And of course we paid for our mistakes.”

We have seen many defensive mistakes.

“Probably tonight we made more mistakes than all last season… I hope that it is the first and last time (we make such mistakes), because honestly if I go to evaluate not only the first three goals that we conceded, but also the other two, and another at the beginning again with Zigoni before 1-0, we made always the same error.
