OGUCHI ONYEWU has explained why he will be playing for free next term.
The American center back has joined AC Milan in the summer of 2009 on free transfer. However, he couldn’t play for the most of the season following a harsh injury in the start of the season, which kept him out of months.
Despite getting the injury on national duty, the Rossoneri paid the wages of Onyewu. After recovering, the 28-year-old offered to play for free, and today, Wednesday, he finally explains why.

Milan to decide Brazilian’s future today
He told La Gazzetta dello Sport: “Honestly, it seemed to me like a natural thing. For me, it was an unfortunate season, but I have a lot of desire to learn and I hope that this will help me when I return to Italy.
“[Milan CEO Adriano] Galliani has been very close to me. I wanted to repay them for their affection. It’s true that Milan are like a family. I arrived last year and I soon felt accepted and welcome. I never felt like an outsider.”
On Massimiliano Allegri, who will be the coach of Milan next season, Onyewu said: “I don’t know if it’s official. I know that Allegri is prepared and that he makes the team play well. When a club changes Coach a new energy is emitted and for me given I didn’t play last year I am starting again from zero.”
The player then spoke about what he expects from the correct World Cup: “Going very far. This team is prepared. We have a strong team spirit and never give up. It’s not easy to win against us. The fans always expect a lot, but we know how to stay away from all this and how not to feel the pressure.”

He’s not as good as Nesta or Silva so he will still be benched next season. I like him and I think he’s find though
