Bologna FC-AC Milan: Time To Win Again

BOLOGNA F.C. 1909 are hosting AC MILAN on Sunday noon at Stadio Renato Dall’Ara in Bologna, as the Rossoneri are desperate to win again after failed to do so in the last three times.

From the fourteen place in the Serie A, Bologna arrive. A victory would maybe not take them into the next places, but would keep them in no risk of relegation zone, meaning they will finish in the middle of the table.

With the Sucdetto dream seems to be over, AC Milan are coming to secure second place. Roma are very close now, and in great form, so only a victory on Sunday would keep the Rossoneri in the what-could-be-a-fight with Inter.

The last time the two sides met, it was on 20/9/2009. A good match of the Rossoneri ended up with one goal scored by Clarence Seedorf in the 75th minute.

Bologna are now looking forward with hope, after were doomed at a point this season, the Rossoblu have turned over the situation, as now with 24 points, from 22 matches in the 14th place.

January 31 v Chievo (A) – DREW 1-1 (Serie A)

January 24 v Bari (H) – WON 2-1 (Serie A)

January 20 v Atalanta (H) – DREW 2-2 (Serie A)

January 17 v Fiorentina (A) – WON 2-1 (Serie A)

January 10 v Cagliari (H) – LOST 1-0 (Serie A)

Franco Colomba’s men are working well right now, with two wins and two draws in their last four games. Colomba should be happy with the latest performance, which brings results too.

The Felsinei have beaten Fiorentina on January 17. Henry Giménez scored the first goal Marco Di Vaio the second and Adrian Muto reduced to make it 1-2 at the end of 90 minutes.

Last weekend, Bologna were held by Chievo Verona away. Marco Di Vaio opened the scoring but Sergio Pellissier equaled. Bologna must be a careful against a Milan side, who is just seeking to win.

The Rossoblu’s home-record is not bad: from 10 matches, they have won five games, drawn twice and lost four. However, they have conceded 16 goals this season at their home stadium – Stadio Renato Dall’Ara.

NEWS: Mutarelli, Viviano and Mingazzini are all out while Britos, Guana, Lanna, Raggi and Modesto are in danger due to minor injuries.

Things went better for the Rossoneri. They’ve had a hard week, starting with another defeat to Inter, coming through elimination from Coppa Italia, after losing to Udinese, and that has ended with a draw against Livorno.

The only thing AC Milan are lacking is luck. Even though various of chances il Diavolo find it hard to express their control to goals. Right now, Milan are in second place with 41 points from 21 matches.

January 31 v Livorno (H) – DREW 1-1 (Serie A)

January 27 v Udinese (H) – LOST 1-0 (Coppa Italia)

January 25 v Inter (A) – LOST 2-0 (Serie A)

January 17 v Siena (H) – WON 4-0 (Serie A)

January 13 v Novara (H) – WON 2-1 (Coppa Italia)

But, a result that is less than a victory, could see Leonardo’s side going down in the Serie A to third place, as A.S. Roma now have the same points as Milan – meaning they are threatening the Rossoneri.

Leo claimed before the derby that this match has no mental value, but apparently, he was wrong. The scenario would have been different should Milan beat Inter in the derby, and the hard week could be a good one.

But back to reality…that didn’t happen, so Milan now must work with what they have. Milan midfielder Mathieu Flamini stated the spirit is high at Milan, but the matches are to deicide that.

Inter are running away, and despite Coach Leonardo says the race is still open, he knows too that it would be hard to catch them, when the gap is eight points, and both sides are with a missing game.

Less than a win against Bologna would be unacceptable, but in fact, that should not be too hard for a side that held 13-match unbeaten record until the match against Bologna.

NEWS: Dominic Adiyiah has returned from African Cup of Nations, while Milan took Mancini on loan from Inter. As for the match, Pato, Oddo and Onyewu are out while Flamini, Seedorf and Thiago Silva have injury concerns.

This match will prove if Milan can run for Scudetto again and have the ability and the character Inter Milan have – getting out of bad moments. Bologna will fight hard but Milan should not have a problem to win this game. AC Milan 2-0 Bologna F.C. 1909

I would love to see this line up (4-2-1-3):

Well, all the odds are in Milan side. They are the better side, they are stronger. However, Milan must be careful now with Roma coming on with the same points. I believe that Milan will win the match. Forza Milan! Good Luck!
