Preview: Real Madrid C.F. – AC Milan, The Greatest Meet
“Real Madrid and Milan are two very important teams. Tradition meets and obviously the atmosphere is of anticipation, there’s a great expectation,” AC Milan coach Leonardo told the press in the press-conference at the Santiago Bernabeu.
“Milan and Real are two teams who respect each other a lot. I don’t bet on a positive result, I really believe in it. In these appointments we always find something more.
“We know our opponents, just like Real know us. Everyone knows each other, it’s Real Madrid-Milan, this is the most important thing.
Both teams are coming off to this game after a win. The home side beat Real Valladolid on Saturday despite played not so well. One day later Milan recorded a win on A.S. Roma.
“This match arrives at a positive moment for us. The match against Roma gave us very important responses. Real have great players and are a team who are going through a good moment of form, I believe that also for them meeting Milan is a special occasion.
Asked about the team’s formation that sees many defensive and attacking match-ups, Leonardo didn’t reveal too much.
“I have already decided the formation, all I can say is that Nesta (who sat next to him during the press-conference) will play.”
The Brazilian coach then talked about the individual players, as he praised on Nesta, who deserves any single good word, but also says that he believes that there are differences between Ronaldinho & Kaka, but ‘Ronnie is better on the ball.
“Speaking about Sandro, he’s a great example for all of us.
“Ronaldinho and Kaka are two different players, even though both are offensive players. Ricky has a special speed, Ronaldinho has a game with the ball which is also special. They are complete but different players.”
AC Milan will take on Real Madrid tonight on 20:45 CET.
