FILIPPO INZAGHI, the striker of AC Milan, believes that the best-European goalscoring record will go to Raul eventually, as he can’t wait to play against him and his team-mates tonight.
Maybe the two most honorable strikers in the world today, meet on the same pitch on Wednesday night – Real Madrid C.F. versus AC Milan, Filippo Inzaghi against Raul.
Inzaghi has revealed to the Spanish media that his anticipation for this match tonight is very big, as he can’t wait to play against Raul. Both players are fighting on Gerd Muller’s European goalscoring record (66 goals).
‘He Will Forget AC Milan’
Nesta: Kaka Knows Us, He Fears Us
“He is an example for everyone,” Inzaghi gushed to AS. “It’s been very difficult for him [at Real Madrid] because he has had to compete with many great, young players.
“His personality is also exemplary. I don’t know him personally – I have only seen him play on the pitch, how he devotes himself and how he fights, but it explains a lot.
“As footballers, we know how difficult playing so many games and scoring so many goals is. I can’t wait to meet him on the pitch, even more so because we are vying for the honor of being the leading goalscorer in Europe.”
“[the record will be belong to] neither Inzaghi nor Muller – the record will be his.”
