Maldini: Derby means Scudetto, Moratti: Derby equal nothing

AC Milan legend Paolo Maldini claims that if Milan win the match against Inter, the Scudetto reaching is nothing but a wait. As a respond to these sayings, Inter president Massimo Moratti claims that if Milan win the derby on Saturday it means nothing about the rest of the season

The Rossoneri most appreciated player in the history, Paolo Maldini said on Tuesday that he believes Milan can beat Inter at the derby of Milano and with this momentum, run to the championship this year after Inter won the Scudetto for the last five years.

Milan have a gap of two points from Inter after defeated Siena 2-1 away from goals scored by Alexnadre Pato. While Milan and Juventus won, Inter could barely get a poor 1-1 draw against new promoted Bari. Paolo Maldini believes these two points are very decisive, as it can turns to five.

"[Those two points] are valuable and are helpful," Maldini noted. "Let us imagine that Milan were two points behind after a disappointing pre-season. What pressure would there be on my mates?

"But now Milan can prepare for the derby in the ideal way."

"[A victory in the derby] would create enthusiasm and then the five point advantage could neutralise the technical gap that Inter had at the start. The best do not always win, I remember our Scudetto with [Alberto] Zaccheroni. The derby can be decisive

"If we beat Inter, then we can think of the title."

While Paolo Maldini believes that these five-points gap [Milan will have from Inter if the beat them on the derby] are very important, Inter owner Massimo Moratto dismises this idea, saying a wining in the derby is not so important for the rest of the season. Speaking to Tuttosport, Moratti said:

"If other teams win and Inter don't, you start to think that these other teams are much stronger than you thought."

"From those I have seen play I believe that Milan have done the best, but football is like that and so it is fair that we get the appropriate reaction.

"The challenge of Milan will be great, fantastic. It will be a very important game emotionally, but it won't lead to anything decisive."

Who’s right, nobody can tell, just guess.

I don’t sure how much it says at the second round. Maybe if it was at the 10th then it would say something
