Massimo Oddo’s unwillingness to move on would hurt Milan plans to acquire De Silvestri

The Rossoneri are keen to add a side-back to the squad this summer, when there are less than two weeks to the transfer window. AC Milan want Lazio defender Lorenzo De Silvestri in the team, but their leverage name Massimo Oddo seems not ready to move away of San Siro.

However, according to Il Corriere Dello Sport, both il Diavolo and Biancocelesti are ready to open the negotiations for the Italian youngster, who has been left out of Lazio’s squad due to absence of consent over a new deal. The 21-years-old outcast is looking for a way out.

While there are more clubs interesting in the defender, Milan should have an advantage. However, he, Oddo, holding up the move as he does not seem too willing to move away this summer, and Coach Leonardo, who wants De Silvestri is trying to persuade Oddo to move back to his former club.

In addition to Oddo’s reluctance, also Lazio president Claudio Lotito, who had a row with Oddo that caused the player move, is not keen on the player to return, as he doesn’t want to pay mega-wages. Lotito would rather Milan winger Ignazio Abate to switch with his De Silvestri.

Abate has done well in pre-season; he runs a lot and very enthused. Leonardo will use him as a key player and to wake up the team when they’re are sleepy. Otherwise, the other option is to buy De Silvestri in money, without any exchange. His volute is yet to estimate.

Oddo refuses to move all summer after spent last season with Bayern Munich. Offers from Stoke City, Blackburn Rovers and Panathinaikos came to him but he decided to be commitment to Milan, who don’t really interesting in keeping him.
