Inter president had to respond to Confalonieri criticism over his club
Via a letter that published on Il Corriere Della Sera, Inter dignitary Massimo Moratti has commented to Fedele Confalonieri’s sayings.
Confalonieri is Silvio Berlusconi’s (who owns AC Milan) right-hand man at Mediaset. Yesterday he level criticism over Inter’s spending politics and claimed two of Inter’s Scudetto from the recent years, were absolutely gifts.
Morrati is not a sucker and he had to say something to defend his team, in a letter he wrote for Il Corriere Della Sera journalists, he said, “I read the interview from Fedele Confalonieri that regarded his team [Milan] and mine.
“I was stunned from his tone, which was slightly arrogant for a person who is usually famous for his silence when it comes to journalistic comments.
“I think the only thing I can say is that Berlusconi knows how to respect those who work and risk personally for their passion, and he would not permit himself to make superficial criticisms.
“Unfortunately, when you talk about football these things happen. Without any hard feelings, arrivederci [Goodbye – Italian] Confalonieri and see you at the next derby. Massimo Moratti.”
Inter finished first in Serie A four times in a row, in one of the years, they won ONLY because Juventus found guilty in winning by selecting “favorable” referees (2006 Italian football scandal – read more). Inter are in Beijing now, getting ready for the Supercoppa Italiana on Saturday against Lazio.
