General manager Adriano Galliani admits that Milan are still interesting in Barcelona striker Samuel Eto’o

Galliani says Eto’o remains in Milan list, and is an alternative if the main transfer targets fail to materialize. Milan have enough funds to spend following Kaka move to Real Madrid last month, however, recur offers for Luis Fabiano and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar been rejected.

In some statement Adriano Galliani made today during a press conference which saw the unveiled of Leonardo as the new coach and Massimo Ambrosini as the new captain, Galliani admitted that Fabiano and Huntelaar remain their priority, but got upset for the fees which doubled themselves because of a particular club.

“In this market, Milan wants [Klaas-Jan] Huntelaar and [Luis] Fabiano,” he said, adding, “But the market is locked because of Real Madrid’s spending, and prices have doubled.” Milan are also interesting in Eto’o but the wages are in the sky.

“[Samuel] Eto’o? We cannot deny our interest,” he said, adding, “Eto’o is an important player who wants to be paid a lot of money. We need to balance the books, because we are a company.”  The Cameroon international has been consistently linked with a move away of Barcelona.

His contract expires on 2010, having scored 108 goals in 145 appearances.
