Not only a new stadium. Berlusconi and co. are interested in bringing Milan back & Corriere dello Sport suggests some changes can be made soon.

President Silvio Berlusconi has ‘returned to being close to Milan’ as yesterday he marked his 14th straight visit to training center Milanello. Adriano Galliani, Barbara and some sponsors were there as was il Corriere dello Sport editor Paolo De Paola and the Rome-based newspaper have an ‘exclusive’ piece on Saturday’s edition talking about the future of Milan.

According to il Corriere, Milan’s plan consists for several aspects, some of which appear to be quite difficult to execute.

It’s reported that the Rossoneri are looking to follow the model of Bayern Munich. The German club has three main investors, who control 25% of the club – Adidas, Audi and Allianz (the rest of the shares are held by the company represented by Franz Beckenbauer). Milan are thinking of doing something similar, perhaps also with Adidas and Audi but the name of Fly Emirates also comes up as they’ve recently expressed interest in helping Milan finance their new stadium, which will be completed in 2019 or 2020, according to CdS (Barbara Berlusconi commented on the issue yesterday after meeting with sponsors). There is also the idea of selling some of the shares to fans.

The other aspect of the reported plan is to bring back Fabio Capello, Carlo Ancelotti and Arrigo Sacchi. The idea sounds a bit hard to accomplish and far stretched but it’s said that Milan want to have a new role for these three men to work as the three ‘wise men’ of Rossoneri, contributing their knowledge in the areas of strategy, consultation and scouting while also serving as ambassadors in the world. Ancelotti and Capello are still active coaches so it would be hard to imagine such roles for them in the near future but Galliani has already claimed he is ready to welcome back Sacchi at any time and that both Berlusconi and he want the former Rossoneri boss again in the club.

However, a lot depends on the results of the team of Filippo Inzaghi. The newspaper il Corriere dello Sport claims that reaching third place this season is vital for the future plan. Investments in the transfer market can return if the Diavolo finish in a Champions League position.

Milan have been talking about returning to top for months now but so far there have been more words than actions. il Corriere is claiming Milan are planning their future, but only time will tell.

I always thought that Bayern Munich was owned by the fans. If Milan are looking to emulate their model then I will happily invest in my beloved Milan.

I hope this isn’t just a mere talk.

mouth

one question, does milan have a bank account available for its fans to invest?

C

First it was Barcelona and now its Bayern they aiming to be… Listen if they are watching what we are Writing here which i highly doubt then i would tell them this Nr 1 pick a tactic that suits with the players we already have Nr 2 get rid of the trash Nr 3 replace the trash that leaves with the right players if they cant afford all strengthen 1 position at time with a good player not free transfers only if its the right player

Actually milan has followed the barcelona model. The youth teams are now exactly like barca. I’m not sure how many of you follow the youth teams but milan has some seriously good players ( not necessarily primavera) Now they wanna follow bayern regarding financial situation. Milan will be effectively invested by major companies, so the club will self sustainable. Of course it will not change overnight but by 2020 Milan will be quite rich I think fans in this site need to be little bit optimistic and do a research before they comment. In conclusion, Milan is actually combining both… Read more »

Well..its refreshing to hear that the management has a plan. It looks long term but a fine plan nonetheless. Forza Milan.

I sure that true fans will invest in the team and we will make milan be rhe best again

Bayern model: buy top class players and play with them and at that time (5-10 years) don’t waste money. So when they get old you have saved money to buy new players and so on .

Ouch!

One can only wonder why Maldini has not been involved with football since his retirement, Hmmm maybe its because he wants a role in Milan and only Milan! I just do not understand why B&G are wasting such a valuable asset and resource.

Please sign firminho(hoffenheim) dybala(palermo) and douglas costa( shaktar) with 2 more defenders then chapions league here we come

I will believe it when Galliani leaves Milan. I highly doubt milan will be different with him still around.

Slick

Three wise men are going to fix milan ? .. Great .. Why not summon Christ himself ? .. This is all empty talk. What needs to happen is finances need to get better and Silvio needs to loosen his chokehold grip on Milan and get rid of Galliani. There are no quick fixes, bottom line, get good players and dont hang on to the bad ones. And please stop destroying the Brand that Milan is.

1st, we were supposed to have been following barca’s youth strategy. Now we are following Bayern’s. All I can say is : I’ll believe it when I see it. Otherwise, it’s just another lie.

Juninho

I feel sorry for those who believe that.

Chris

Lol @juninho I like that. Truth is, These are all signs of good news but I’m a Nigerian and I know all about politicians talking. They don’t give a hoot about you. That said, we can’t do anything but wait. If these things are actually done, it would solve many problems for the club. However, we don’t need galliani anymore or Silvio Even, it would be cool if we can vote presidents. Barbara is doing a fine job already so she should continue. Over to more pressing issues, I’d say we should get a better coach now please. I wish… Read more »
