SULLEY MUNTARI has picked up a two match ban for manhandling the ref; Totti and Roma have also been punished.
Milan will have to go to the final matchday and fight for a win as nothing less than that would secure the third place and the Champions League qualification stage, after the Rossoneri failed to beat Roma on Sunday, and could only draw 0-0.
The match between Milan and Roma at the San Siro last night will not be remembered for the level of football. Instead, it will be remembered for the racism from the Roma fans and the stupidity of Muntari and Totti who were both shown reds.

The sports court has decided to give Sulley Muntari a two-match ban and a €10.000 fine. Muntari was manhandling the referee Gianluca Rocchi as Rocchi was trying to show Mario Balotelli a yellow card for a foul. Muntari got a direct red card (it is Muntari’s 10th sent off since his arrival to the Serie A) and left Milan with 10 man for the final 50 minutes of the game.
Francesco Totti was also sent off in the game as he elbowed Philippe Mexes in Roma’s half in the 92nd minute. Totti has been banned for just one game and unlike Muntari, he will be available for the first game of the season next season. Roma have been punished and have been fined €50.000 due to the racist slurs their fans shouted at three Milan players. Rocchi even stopped the game for 97 seconds because of it but Milan’s players of colour suffered during the entire match.
“AS Roma condemns any form of racial abuse,” the statement read on their official website. “This type of behaviour from any football supporters, including ours, is completely unacceptable. We are committed to facing this issue head-on to rid our sport of this problem and promote respect for all.” FIFA President Sepp Blatter posted this on Twitter: “Appalled to read about racist abuse in Serie A last night. Tackling this issue is complex, but we’re committed to action, not just words.”
Milan have been fined €15.000 because some of the fans were pointing with laser pens at the Roma players’ faces during the second half of the game. Milan will hope to have a calmer day next Sunday when they visit Siena for the season finale.
Serie A are not ready to tackle this problem because these token fines is no where new a solution, its prolongation of the problem.
ITS the exact opposite of what blatter says. all i see is words and no action. fines wont stop this, ban those pair of supporters and keep banning them until they vanish even if they are ultras stop games if things gets out of control we have no place in the world for this unnecessary hatred

These petty fines won’t even scratch the surface of the problem at hand… Drastic measures need to be implemented or else Serie A will never break the cycle
Where is boateng? he said he would leave the match even if it was champions league. I know that you just dont really walk off a competive match and that Boa said it in the heat of the moment. Think about it. How would you feel if you went to see Milan play Roma (which includes flying over sees for me) and three Milan players decide to walk off the pitch and either the game is suspended or Roma decide to take advantage of their 3 man advantage and win the game??!!

It’s okay if Muntari will miss the season opening, maybe we will have gotten more better players in midfield by then. I don’t think he’s a starter with our current midfield either, when everyone is fit that is. Ambrosini, De jong, Montolivo, Flamini, Nocerino and Boateng (if used in midfield) are all better than him.
