MILAN ARE ready to offer new contacts to Max Ambrosini, Sandro Nesta and Rino Gattuso, reports say.
The end of the season is approaching and there are only six more games to go. Milan are fighting for the Scudetto with Juventus, but there is another thing on their mind: the expiring contracts of the players.
Milan are in no rush to discuss contracts before the end of the playing days this term, but according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, they already know who will be getting a new contract at Milan and who won’t.

Maxi dreams of derby goal
The Milan-based newspaper claims that the trio Massimo Ambrosini, Alessandro Nesta and Gennaro Gattuso will get renewals from the club. Ambrosini is the captain while the two others take the armband when the No. 23 does not play. Ambro has been at Milan since ’95, Gattuso since ’99 and Nesta since ’02.
The future of Clarence Seedorf remains hanging in the balance and it’s not clear if he’ll continue his career at Milan. Mark Van Bommel is expected to leave to PSV while Filippo Inzaghi could decide to retire.
Flavio Roma’s future could be at Milan, although as a goalkeeper coach rather than a player. Mathieu Flamini, Gianluca Zambrotta and Mario Yepes are all expected to be released at the end of the season. Milan also have to decide whether they use their buying options on Maxi Lopez and Sulley Muntari.
Ohhh come on..ambrosini and gattuso are legends..but nowdays they aren’t as good as they used to be..definetily not better than flamini / van bommel :(
Eliminate all contracts. Time to open the checkbook, don.
From what i’m reading on milannews, the company that holds this club Fininvest has written off the debts in sum of 69m€. I had to translate it to english so i don’t know if i’m correct can anyone fill me on this?
Yes – It’s true. I’ve just read it at http://www.milannews.it/?action=read&idnotizia=78706.
We had a big debt, but Berlusconi(By Fininvest)have written of the debt.
Ambrosini? I’m speechless! MVB made a bigger impact! Ambrosini is finished! I hope this is not true!
This sound good but wld have see ambro and rino realise and c flamini wait @least a year or 2.but get us a AM and LB.
This is an important decision. Go on milan.
We only need Nesta,Flamini & Vanbommel. May be Gattuso b’cos he is all for milan & we want him to stay but not no be a regular starter. The rest should all go.
Having made a big mistake with Pirlo, Milan must bring Seedorf back. He’s shown in all his matches–and he always appears in the biggest matches–that he has a lot of football left.
i agree seedorf is always there in big matches he is one of my favorite players now.
flamini, nesta, seedorf and maybe one of van bommel or rino….
KEEP FLAMINI!!!
Guess Monty is the only MF Milan have signed this season, Looks like they won’t sign anymore.Long time to go let’s wait and watch.
guys lets not take ambrosini’s role so far for granted.. obviously hes not as good as he used to be, but he has showed up and contributed when called for in our season full of injuries…. like at milan when we were facing barca… he was great and contributed a lot so i think he deserves this renewal, nesta is obviously deserving of a renewal, but i dont think gattuso deserve it, he should just retire but thats just my opinion, i do think flamini should get a wage reduction but a contract renewal, and van bommel too cause while… Read more »
renew the contracts of, rino, ambro, nesta, zambrotta and seedorf minimum 3 years, so we can build the future team around those players.
we should only keep flamini if can have a lower salary. nesta should also stay and seedorf to. we should trade bommel for strootman or keep him one year. rhino said that he could play for free so we should keep him
I’d keep Nesta but the other two are beyond terrible and should have left in 2007, I’m struggling with this team right now, the manager infuriates me, I hate the formation, the club spends no money and we keep renewing players like Gattuso and Ambrosini, mark my words, these two wouldn’t get in most SPL teams.
Good enough
Nesta ofcourse, being Italians even gives them edge over others
The rest should please release the club
I would only renew Nesta, Seedorf, Gattuso Nesta is still up to the highest level of the game and Seedorf is also a quality player that when get enough rest can be a super sub! and to play in big games. While Gattuso is very important in the locker room, to keep the harmony of the team, the same thing goes to Seedorf! Ambro has a great influence in the locker room too but not as much as Gattuso and he has lost his pace which is the most important thing for a player like him.. Flamini>> High salary and… Read more »
c’mon guys show some respect. Ambro and Rino deserve to stay until they decide to retire. They have Milan in their hearts and have given so much. Nesta is still one of our best players. MVB wants to end his career at PSV and this opens space for us to get a young DM. Flamini’s wages are insanely high and he’s always injured.
tis is wat is stoppin us from growin some fans here jus want them to get renewal so they can b useful in the dressin listen u may find this harsh but in life infact in every field tis is there u age u lose ur job same is here these players r no longer good on the pitch plus they want to play every game..ru kiddin me i want a new milan these guys helped us a lot kuddos to them but now we need players like strasse merkel n others 4m youth team to step up why on… Read more »
Keep Nesta and Van Bommel, invest the money saved on the rest on some good young players.
oldies day out
these players will be kept other reasons, like instilling the champion mentality in the new players & for their influence in the change room. Allegri shud leave & frank rijkaard shud coach milan, if a coach hates gud football he shud sign for an epl club. rijkaard will help us conquer europe & get a gud no.10.
Is this team serious? How can they renew the contract of ambro and gattuso, this is the worst news i have ever heard. Please we need fresh blood in the team. Young players who are hungry for success. Milan has no future with tired legs. Milan shd stop buying more italian players cos i don’t believe they have quality in their play. Spend a little cos in modern football money play football. Barcelona are still spending because upon all their quality players. For christ sake, we are milan not siena.
Ganso, montolivo ,criscito, lavezzi, tevez bcom rossoneri milan are unbeatable
