THE PRESIDENT of the club admitted Ariedo Braida was watching two Sao Paulo stars.
Milan Sporting Director Ariedo Braida took a flight to Brazil last week in order to closely monitor the talents of the Samba land, especially the young emerging talents of the Tricolor Paulista – São Paulo FC.
There were reports that Braida had met with the leadership of Sao Paulo to discuss one of the notable players of the Brazilian side – 19-year-old midfielder named Casemiro, and their President confirms it.
Abidal: “PSG, Milan interested in me”
Allegri targets win over BATE Borisov
“The offers for our players coming from Italy make us happy, because this shows that we’re working well,” President Juvenal Juvêncio said. “Casemiro and Rhodolfo? It’s true that Braida was here to watch the game, but Sao Paulo certainly do not want to sell. Lucas? The Italian interest isn’t as strong as elsewhere.”
Casemiro’s release clause is €30 million, while Lucas Moura’s (19, attacking midfielder) price is even higher. Rhodolfo meanwhile is a 25-year-old center back who’s been tracked by Juventus for some time.

Casemiro’s price is way too high. Really too high. 30 million euros? I know what the article said about us tracking him, but we’ll have better luck elsewhere.
Too expensive. Maybe Oscar is cheaper. Eriksen is my first choice thought.
btw, more news on this fabio lopes kid…not just goal.com
I saw that, but i doubt we’ll be seeing him any time soon.
I really hope we get him.He would be pretty cheap not even worth a Million. He already shows that he’s quite persistent so he’ll give our management some trouble and will insist to get some playing time(from what i determine him to be like from his words) unlike the Primavera Kids who just stay there. One more thing his Touch is almost identical to that of Rui Costa’s!
I’ve had comparisons all the time for all sorts of players and rarely do any of them become true. I doubt that’ll be any different here.
Well i dont think he will become as good as Rui but im sure he’ll be a great player.
Eriksen is the best choice.
Casemiro isn’t the trequartista that we need,I watched him a few times,he is good but not for this price. Our guy is Eriksen.
Casemiro is not a trequartista he’s like Boateng a Box-to-Box Player.
hahahahahah…..Really,now?you watched him?
Because if you did, you’d know that Casemiro is NOT a trewuartista, but a defensive midfielder? Stop lying, kid…
Why do brazilians do dis nonense ? He is just 19 for cryin out loud . Nasri cost 25 ,cesc 40 .
Very outrageous fee for Casemiero. 30m?. Better luck next time.
30m…what a joke!
Casemiro is really a deep lying playmaker/Defensive mid. He’s really not like KPB. His work rate is way lower than kpb’s. Casemiro is the type of player that sometimes you may not remember he’s on the field and then he makes a spectacular pass to setup a goal. I’ve seen him play on numerous opccasions, honestly I don’t think he fits well with the system Allegri is trying to setup.
Dave i agree100%! …n way too pricy. wats wrong w/these brazilian clubs n their exorbitant prices fo players who has yet to prove themselves.
Dave, thanks for the info. Its nice to hear this stuff from someone who has actually seen the guy play and who can add a bit more info on what he is like.
Lucas is the man to watch at Sao Paulo. If not him, we should be focusing on Eriksen as we need a great young trequartista in first hand who could set up quality passes for our attack! We have great attackers, but in the games vs barca and juve, we are stuck at our own half. If we cant get over the middle its no use for great attackers. Get us a trequartista! :)
Forza Milan!
when braida is impressed, it means a lot. he has so far told milan to buy countless players, the most recent ones include pastore hernanes hamsik etc.if braida says grt the guy, he will be good
€30m is phucking ridiculous. Established european star players cost that much.
No one will ever buy them for that price, not even Real/City.
Looks like the days of getting players like Kaka from Brazil for peanuts are over!
Looks like race for Eriksen just got tougher, i would really love to see this kid in rednblack but it won’t be easy nor cheap…
This trend was started by the argentines, remember veron, crespo etc and now the brazilians have adopted it. €30mil is a whole lot of money to spend on a 19 year old, and being honest, the brazilian economy is more powerful than it was before, they could afford to keep their talents longer.
we need players that have a reputation but are young. have u guys seen the kid on inter milan.phillip coutinho. he is 19 years old and inter dosent play him that much but ive wathed him and he is just what we need. young, quick with the ball and creative. check him out let me know what you think.
forza milan.
bah lol he was the biggest disappointment in the u20 world cup here in my country. brazil played 4 games in this city and watched all of them with my brother who is interista, and we both agreed he sucked….
In all fairness we did pay 22 million Euros for Alexandre Pato. So we did give in to this sort of thing. And Thiago Silva was 10 million, but had just a year left on his contract. Still the prices have gone up way too much.
ACtually to double check that… Pato was closer to 24 million… but that was 2007 when the financial picture was a little better (just before the crisis).
Guys,Guys, Guys….How quick we forget. U Guys are putting your hopes wayyyy too high… WE called names during the summer and non of those names came remember? Now we are calling players with crazy fees??? come on, Milan don’t roll like that. we don’t buy like others… Mark my words; NO PLAYER THAT COSTS MORE THAN 8 MILLION EUROS will come in January…My best bet is Montolivo and no one else especially now that Binho and Boateng are capable of playing as attackin’ Mids… JUST MARK MY WORDS even if U don’t agree!
What Jo Milano is saying is the truth……period.
