CLARENCE SEEDORF will wear the armband.
Dutch midfielder Seedorf will captain AC Milan at White Hart Lane tonight (20:45 CET / Italy time).
With Massimo Ambrosini and Andrea Pirlo injured, and Gennaro Gattuso suspended from this game, the decision on who’ll be the captain was between Christian Abbiati, Alessandro Nesta and Seedorf.
Tottenham-AC Milan: The Rossoneri squad
Robinho: ‘We can beat Tottenham in England’
Kevin-Prince Boateng is fit to play and is expected to start alongside Seedorf and Mathieu Flamini in midfield, leaving Alexander Merkel on the bench.
Massimiliano Allegri will have no forwards on the bench against Tottenham as Robinho, Alexandre Pato & Zlatan Ibrahimovic are all expected to start.
Probable formation (4-3-1-2): Christian Abbiati; Ignazio Abate, Alessandro Nesta, Thiago Silva, Marek Jankulovski; Clarence Seedorf, Mathieu Flamini, Kevin-Prince Boateng; Robinho; Alexandre Pato, Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Coach: Max Allegri.

Please name Nesta for captain he deserves it! I pray that God would make Seedorf 10 years younger for tonight’s game <3
Im sorry, but the reason we did so poor in the first leg, in the first half was because seedorf was on the pitch. I was thinking we had a great chance in the 2nd leg until I found out seedorf would b playing. Not too sure now…
huhhhhh !! :(
please God………. Don’t let seedorf play tonite…. If he plays let him play in the last 10 minutes of the match when we are up 3-0 please… Oh God…..
Guys let’s pray that Sedorf play well tonight, he surly has leadership skills to be captain. You need some one like him present to orginize the lines, despite of his experience I just hope he dose well. Let the game begin BRING IT ON. FORZA MILAN
The problem wasn’t Slowdorf playing, it was him playing up front. I hope his role responsibility tonight is to dump through balls over and in to Pato and Ibra. If his responsibility is to play as an attacking midfielder, we’re screwed.
Nesta refuses to be captain since leaving Lazio. So it has to be Seedorf. But ugh! he sucks…
ALLEGRI WHATS WRONG WITH YA??!
pls don’t let seedorf play pls he may ruin our hope of qualification pls try merkel, maxi pls don’t let seedorf play unless u want to lose and u no that if we lose there will be so much pressure on the scudetto hope pls don’t pls him. forza milan forza maxi.
I don’t realy get why al you guys say please..
It’s simple for me, I’d rather see Merkel make his CL Debut, than put seedorf in the starters.. I think merkel woud do just fine, he might get tired but then comes seedorf.. ( Seedorf doesn’t have it anymore what it takes to play in a top club )
Hope they win tonight, Forza Milan
I think @Marc is right. He MAY not be the problem completely in the first leg, it was his position that was wrong. I still dont want him to play, but if he does, I believe he still has the crosses in him that may decide the game.
yea, Marc has it completely correct….seedorf isn’t that good behind the strikers but he’s better off in the left mid position…he’s still not the best and i believe he should be a 60th min substitute…but i’m perfectly fine with him being the captain…although his best games are past he is still a leader. I however am also praying he plays like he did when he was 30! FORZA MILAN!
Pato’s temperature is warm but there is no fever, according to Milannews.
i would swap seedorf for merkel and make nesta that captian because he deserves it after all that hard work in the central defense area.
Seedorf is the best ever. Tonight we will prove it. Bring on the thumps.
We still win.
This will be a difficult game regardless if Seedorf plays or not. I doubt he will play for 90mins but his experience is invaluable at this stage and I HOPE he can replicate his form in 2007 against Bayern Munich when he setup Inzaghi and scored a goal to win 0-2. We need a performance like that as Bayern Munich also had an away goal and we needed to win just like today! Anything is possible today, and I have a feeling that Spurs are overconfident because they have Bale back in the squad and that attidude will cost them… Read more »
and what does GIANCARLO think about this decision.
lets hope he has one of those nights like he did in manchester in 2007 forza milan
Forza Seedorf!!!
Forza Milan!!!
Lets Embarrass Tottenham at Home!!!
Rossonero 4Life!!!
milannews also says cassano + cash for balotelli. hmmm..
We’re not selling Cassano.
The reality is we need to play Seedorf. I’m hearing Boateng will certainly play but he could be in the attacking midfield position… and Seedorf back in midfield. It may very well work.
Student, STFU.
Bale is on the bench, and he’s not totally match fit, according to Milannews.
Allegri you had dinho in your hands, he would be useful now right? How about that “fantastic four” You didnt even dear to try it ONCE. Its all up to him now, if win we have GREAT players with real blood in their veins.
If we loose, despite the injuries, its all Allegris fault. We’ll see. Anyway brothers, lets say FORZA MILAN, AVANTI MILAN togehter.
Stop bashing Seedorf – he is Milan player and we should all support him. He isn’t having the best season but he has experience and can be very useful. Today Milan needs all the support they can get so cut it out and stand behind your team, no matter who is on the filed. We can bash them after then game if they deserve it.
Dinho? Absolutely useless. He tends to disappear in big games like this. Big time. The fantastic four? Yes, we’ll get really smashed on a counter because Dinho and Pato don’t track back and defend.
I remember the Milan-Ajax game… where Dinho was given a chance but did horribly. Stop talking about Dinho. He was absolutely useless. He didn’t even run. He thought walking around was playing football. If you get outrun by Seedorf you know you’re past it.
Yes, it’s all Allegri’s fault isn’t it? Blah. Same old story.
ac milan should left that ass go in place of ronaldinho.
Look, we dont have 20 attacking player to choose from ,we never have we never will.
We all now, we are lacking creativity in midfield, if you want to go on and say seedorf is a better option than dinho, do it. You call dinho useless? Are you a milan fan since this year? Or have you just forgotten what he did under leonardo?
You remembered one game and forgot 38 others. Way to go dude.
@ GIANCARLO
Please bring on some more crap, Not enuff so far!!!!!!
Forza Milan, fans til as far as cape town are waiting for the goal – we’ll be singing til the last whistle. Come on everyone get behind Milan ! ! !
we lost i still love milan whatever we played better
I honestly think we played far better than Spurs. To me the only problem was the attack. Robinho’s passing was awful to say the least, Pato’s decisions are questionable, and Ibra still flops in the Champions League. It’s okay guys, at least we can have more fresh legs for the league. Forza Milan!
Btw,
Boateng needs to learn when to do his stepovers. Oh and am I the only one who thinks Seedorf played well? Aside from some slow decision making. Anyone else?
No Danial, i think seedorf played very well too, along with Abate (this guy IS ROCK!), Silva, and Nesta. The others are playing good but not great like those four. And also, we dominate all 90 minutes on Spur home. Maybe next season we will more competitive when we can see Cassano, Emanuelson, and other new guy play in UCL. Forza Milan!!!
Milan gave a good aacount of themselves today. Cannot blame Mr Allegri for this one. He did the best with what he had. As mentioned before Milan lacks depth and quality and hopefully we will invest in the summer to bring in some good quality players. Ibra really suck in the Champions League, unbelievable he was useless today. No help to the attack or defense. My big issue with Robinho is his shooting-absolute terrible! Robinho should have scored and he completely wiffed at the ball infront of goal with no goalkeeper:-( Had that been Pato we would beeen playing in… Read more »
While I never had delusions of winning the Champions League as we were nowhere close, I certainly expected to move into the quarterfinals. This match was absolutely abysmal on several dimensions. Our defense, as it always has been, was phenomenal. Thiago Silva and Nesta were without question the only reason we didn’t lose worse on aggregate. Now the bad, and there is many. Obviously the front three were terrible. Pato played reasonably well, but he is still being misused. Robinho and Ibrahimovic could have just as easily stayed in Italy as their presence was not at all felt. I thought… Read more »
@Marc…I agree on your comment about the defense and Ibra. Yes our defense played well today. Abate stands out for me and he is fast become a really great RB. Ibra-well what can I say? I feel for Pato because someone like Inzaghi is a more suitable partner for Pato. Ibra does not move well and if Pato is the only striker moving it makes the opponents defense have a easier task of shutting both of them down or marking them close. Robinho was really terrible today what a miss! If he had hit that cleanly that would have been… Read more »
@Nick…. I Agree!!! @Marc…Great analysis. I’m a born Milan fan.(lol…no seriously). I’ve seen us win, I’ve seen us lose. And I think that we played a beautiful game vs Tottenham. We were very unlucky not to score. Seedorf?!!! Played with great quality. Merkel played well when he came on also. Ibrahimovic??? I believe we should send him straight back to barca. The stats have proven that ibra is a big game flop especially in the Champions League. Robinho needs to work on shooting but his movement creates chances so we can work with that. We were great. I never expected… Read more »
Shervin, Dinho is useless. He’s not even making a great impact in Brazil. I don’t care for Dinho last year. Our team was lucky and really poor. Our entire team was centered on Dinho… and we were very predictable. I remember being smashed 4-0 by Inter. Last year was completely shameful. No, I remembered most of his games. Including the ones against big teams… where he completely disappeared. And tonight I was right. Seedorf was brilliant, and was playing perhaps his last CL game… as he’ll leave Milan. He was absolutely the right man to play tonight. I’m proud of… Read more »
Seedorf did very well…he showed true heart, and character.
He was our best player at that game… I would much rather sell Flamini, Pirlo and Van Bommel than Seedorf
