Sandro Tonali could very soon leave and head to an experience in England, as Milan are open to selling him and are negotiating with Newcastle.
It’s a new era for Milan, an era where being an icon and bleeding for the Rossoneri colors means nothing for the club owners, and only practical, financial aspects, are important to decisions.
Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara were shown the door by Gerry Cardinale, and for RedBird there is not a single player on the squad of Stefano Pioli that is irreplaceable and is off the market.
This is evident by the news that broke this week that Milan and Newcastle are deep in talks over the sale of Sandro Tonali, the 23-year-old Milanista midfielder, who has been a key player to the success of the Diavolo in the last few seasons, winning the Scudetto with the club in 2021/22.
As reported by David Ornstein, the reliable journalist of The Athletic, negotiations are progressing well between Milan and Newcastle. Ornstein claims that the Premier League club is close to reaching an agreement with the Rossoneri for Tonali. The price, also confirmed by a report this evening by Milannews.it, would be €70 million + €5 million. Newcastle had an earlier offer declined by the club, but they now seem to have gone closer to Milan’s valuation of the player.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Dan Ashworth, the sporting director of Newcastle, is in Milano to close the operation. Tonali’s agent, Giuseppe Riso, also had a meeting with CEO Giorgio Furlani and with Geoffrey Moncada, who is now with more responsibilities after Maldini got sacked. It’s believed that the player is being offer €8m per season to move to England.
Furlani will soon give his answer to Newcastle, but Milan fans can already start preparing to life without Tonali. Everyone is for sale, today it’s Tonali, tomorrow…

That guy should not be sold
That’s the Elliott/Redbird ambition catching young players after few years selling for profit milan is doomed
Before anyone accuses Tonali of chasing paper, remember he lowered his wage to come to Milan. He’s being pushed out and I totally get him. This is not the club he grew up watching and fell in love with anymore. Gone are the days of prestige Milan once had. We’ve officially become a feeder club.
WTH
It’s really sad to see this, but however, this is what football has evolved into these days. Football is a business now and we must follow the trend less we are left behind. This is the he only way we can generate revenue and compete with the big boys considering we don’t have a stadium of our own yet. Only if a miracle happens and the Arabs come and buy Milan. Until then we have to do what needs to be done to be competitive.
“Milan fans can already start preparing to life without Tonali” Redbird can prepare for less fans as well. Why would we keep suporting a feeder club that is nothing like the original Milan except having the name. Hope Tonali refuses but you know they will pressure him to accept same as they did Cutrone. Also do not expect a replacment for Tonali. At best they will bring some random player from France. Well let the french buy their tickets and merchendaise.
sell tonali buy samardzic/sms n frattesi
sell cdk buy baldanzi

And where are Curva? They’ve been silent since the start if RedBird charade. Probably bought off with cheap season tickets.
