Charles De Ketelaere is practically a Milan player; it’s finally over.

All the details are now agreed, and the deal is fully defined: Club Brugge have today agreed to sell CDK to Milan and the player should be in Milano this weekend.

As reported by Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri – the deal is for €32 million plus €3 million of bonuses plus 15% for any future sale of CDK for over €32m. Tavolieri reports that the Brugge wanted 20% and it was the last detail to agree, but eventually 15% was OK with both sides.

The news of the deal is also confirmed by Milannews.it’s Antonio Vitiello and La Gazzetta dello Sport’s Luca Bianchin, among many others in the Italian media. The player will land in Italy tomorrow or on Sunday and will have his medical check-ups on Sunday or Monday, before starting to train with the new squad on August 3, when training resumes at Milanello following the Marseille friendly.

CDK strongly wanted to join Milan all along and his desire played a big part in the success of the negotiations. Vitiello claims that he will sign a five-year deal worth €2m + bonuses, and says that “it cannot be ruled out” that his salary will increase from year to year, starting from €2m.

The 21-year-old, who can play anywhere in attack, should continue to wear the #90 jersey. De Ketelaere is Milan’s second signing of the summer, after Divock Origi – another Belgian international.

So brugges wanted 35m milan got him for 32m +3m bonuses and 15%of future sale.
Why did this take 2 months?

SJF

Last season he scored a bunch of goals playing centre forward, hopefully he can take that position as our alternatives are injured re and/or old.

Either way we desperately need a rw as we have for years!!

Then we need midfielder and defender.
Hopefully they will get moving now on these

Rossi

I think he will be played in Milan as a RW or AM. Depending on his performance in those positions he may be kept there or moved to CF in the future. I don’t see a point for him to be played as CF in Milan right now since we have Giroud, Origi, Ibra and we can say even Lazetic in that position.

SJF

Lets be fair and realistic
Giroud – 36yo
Origi – back up at best
Ibra – finished
Lazetic and others his age like colombo etc are a long way from being ready

This is not my opinion, this is the reality

Coach Seedorf

You’re quite interesting with your analysis, must you always whine? Giroud is 36yrs old, yet he delivered us the scudetto last season. Origi is a potential 20+ goal striker, yet you underrate him so much. You call Ibra finished? Watch and see them all perform this season. CDK was not signed for our CF position as we are well stocked in that department currently, except we will be switching to a 2 striker formation or we have an emergency need for him there due to injuries/suspension. I expect CDK to spend most of the season as RW as I wouldn’t… Read more »

Please tell me what club that wants to win major trophies would be content with our striker? Absolutely none

We all love Ibra but hes over 40 and has a major injury, be realistic.
Yes Giroud was important last year but he cant play 90mins twice a week, be realistic
Origi had a full season at wolfsberg 4 years ago he got 6 goals in 31 league games, be realistic.

There is nothing to argue about here its just basic facts

Coach Seedorf

Bro, Ibra at 40 is still devastating, take it or leave it. He is still a difference maker. If he felt he couldn’t offer anything anymore, he. Would have retired trust me. We all know Ibra is not the type of player who likes to sit on the bench. In training he still competes with others for a starting spot and the best player starts for us without sentiments. If sentiments were attached, Maldini should have been playing regularly for us. Besides, M&M are not fools to give Ibra an extension if they didn’t feel he deserved it. He offers… Read more »

Origi is one of most underrated strikers in the game. Kid always delivered when called upon, especially in big games. His only problem was, he played in a team with one of best attacking trio in football. He’s 27 years old, in his prime years. I still think he will be a reveleation for Milan this season.

Ranajaya

This is what’s intriguing me. He and and adli, with different characteristics, both can play in the CAM and RW, Leao too can play on the left if needed. Both him and Adli is smart at reading the ball and hv good vision. If Pioli able to find a way to field them three, with whomever as the CF, we will be solid in every phases of the game and our attacking flow will be very fluid as the three of them can switch with each other. I mean, man, when the three of them gell, Milan will literally be… Read more »

Who cares? Its done. Its not like thats all they were doing.

Do you think with todays technology they were making one phone call at a time?

It is called negotiation. You dont go into a car dealership and pay sticker price. You try and talk them down. Its pretty simple.

SJF

It took 2 months and they got no discount

Milan10

do u even know how bonuses work?
CDK needs to reach several objectives for that 3m bonus clauses to be triggered. if theyre not triggered then basically milan will only pay brugge 32m

SJF

Oh i get it. If hes a total failure we get a discount. Great

Milan10

lol why u gotta be so edgy? a total failure discount? more like whether he can reach certain number of appearances or certain objectives or not. it’s win – win situation for milan really. and since the budget is tight, postponing that 3m could very well contribute so much in milan’s search for defender this summer

Ranajaya

No. They wanted way over that. I guess they want, at least 37, like what leeds offered. We bid at around 30 plus, so they tell us they need 35 straight and 2 as bonuses. That’s why the player’s agent said that they demands unlogical amount of money.
The player has burned the bridge with Brugge in like the last 1 week he has no way back in, so, with already long negotiation, milan has to close the deal or the player go to leeds and our management lost their credential in the market.

agus

CDK and Origi can play on RW. We still also have Messias and Saele. I think for attackers is enough. Now CB

agus

next, we need muscled CB because Lukaku is back.

Rossi

Agreed. We only need a CB now. Unless Bennacer or Bakayoko leaves, i think that we are good in the mid and we only need a CB. Tanganga looks good, but Milenkovic is avaliable for cut price as well. He knows the league and Pioli so he would be a good fit too.

SJF

We have
Tonali
Bennacer
Pobega (who still has to prove himself)

Kessie – gone
Bakayoko – The coach does not want to play him, most likely leaving anyway

So yes we need a midfielder

Also need cb
I’m not insane I promise. I’m very realistic.

We have
Tomori
Kalulu
Kjaer – older player coming off long injury
Gabbia – Decent but inexperienced (may still go on loan)

We are very short in most departments, got away with it last season but unlikely this year. Anyway supposed to be improving and competing in Europe

Rossi

As i said if Bakayoko or Bennacer leaves then yes we will need a new mid. Otherwise i think Tonali/Bennacer and Bakayoko/Pobega is good enough, plus we have Krunic and Adli who can play there as well. For the CB role we definitley need another player. If posible a starter who can team up with Tomori while Kjaer and Kalulu can be the back up. Gabbia have to go on a loan in orther to develop, no point of him to sit on the bench for another season.

Deku

N’Dicka for 15M is a steal. he has only 1 year left and better than Tanganga. Also left-footed Senesi from Feynoord, or even Milenkovic. All of there prices should more or less be in that region. vice-Kessie is our biggest problem currently.

Coach Seedorf

In truth, I don’t see Lukaku ada threat. He would have been a threat if Conte was still their coach but fortunately Conte isn’t.. besides, I don’t think his second coming to Inter will have thesame impact as his first coming. I most likely will not be wrong as Milan will win the scudetto by a wider margin this season compared to last season

hoping and believing that milan will win scudetto again is nice but its most unwise to underestimate lukaku and banter milan in general mate. they have strongest squad on paper and as long as they have marotta, they’ll always have good mercato. i said this months ago: “Milan10  5 months ago watching cagliari – napoli, and ex milan’s primavera bellanova is just so awesome” its a shame that he had to join that garbage club, but it goes to show how awesome marotta is as director. my point is, never underestimate ur opponents. cruyff did that in ‘94 and his… Read more »

Coach Seedorf

I get your point bro but how many 2nd coming has really prospered in football? Inter were the strongest on paper last season also. Their problem is not the team, their coach is their problem as his in-game management led them to some avoidable losses. This is why I said if Conte was still their coach, I would be worried but fortunately for us, he is not. I have a feeling Milan will win the scudetto and ucl this season, probably the coppa Italia also. I know it sounds crazy but it’s very possible and that’s what my guts tell… Read more »

simone is basically discount conte, with his 3-5-2, building and pressing from the back and wingplay crap, hence i dont think i’ll be hard for lakaka to adapt. and since italian defenders defend as unit but are a bit slow, they’ll allow lukaku so much space to exploit, unlike their epl counterparts. lakaka’s a clown but he’s built for serie a. speaking of 2nd coming, even dani alves did well last season with banterlona. also, of course, ibra, and soon messi. bunch of germans like moeller and matthaeus also pulled a jesus and did great. i also am optimistic that… Read more »

like i said when i said about suso years ago, a winger should be fast and/or be a good dribbler (that’s why i kept saying milan shouldn’t have let him go and replaced him with clowns like castipendejo and saladinho). neither adli or CDK are insanely fast but they ARE good dribbler so one of them can and will play rw, if guardioli is smart. and since CDK is left footed, he’s got my vote as modern inverted winger. leaonaldo – adliesta – CDKrunic can then permute their positions a la los galacticos zidane – raul – figo. for that… Read more »

At this point Rebic could be the best option at rw, for some reason Pioli wont try it.
He seems in good form in preseason and played well on the right in the past for club and Country.
Hes such a dangerous player i hope he gets a place in the team

Deku

Rebic should convert to ST. Origi should be sub-Leao. Rebic is physically strong player, who is good at trapping the ball, his height isn’t comparable to Giroud, but I can see us immitating 2018 France, fast wingers and good penalty area ST.

SJF

Yes he can do well in that role.
Hes one of the few players we have in attack that has energy, skill, can beat his man and scores goals

Milan10

origi is as skillful as tammy abraham so let him play st. i know he can play winger as well but that would limit his contributions

Milan10

that’s what i’ve been saying for years. rebic did so well playing rw for croatia in wc ‘18.
he has much better vision and passing abilities than brahim and leao. take adli’s goal for example; leao or brahim or practically any other milan attackers would’ve shot the ball but rebic, in split seconds, found not only 1 but TWO unmarked teammates beside him at the far post so he crossed the ball instead.
since he’s ambidextrous, let brahim be back up lw/rw and play rebic as rw.
