Matteo Gabbia has signed a new contract with the Rossoneri.
Gabbia has been at Milan for practically his whole life and over the past two seasons he’s proven to be a reliable option for boss Stefano Pioli.
Today the club confirmed that Matteo, who during the January mercato seemed to be on the verge of leaving on loan, has signed a new deal with the Diavolo:
“Milan is delighted to announce that Matteo Gabbia has renewed his contract with the club until 30 June 2026 Matteo, born on 21 October 1999, joined the Rossoneri at the age of 13 and marked the end of his journey in Milan’s youth academy with his first-team debut coming in August 2017.
“After 31 appearances to date, 24 of which as a starter, Matteo will continue to sport the Rossoneri jersey.”
Such an underestimated player, yet he always delivers when called upon. Quiet but effective. Hope to see more of him in the future, next to Tomori.
Forza Gabbia!
I agree, he should be utilized more tbh
Great … sell it now !!!
What about Alessio, is he leaving? Kjaer is not getting any younger. We need a starter, Gabbia needs time
Thanks for showing some loyalty, Matteo – something in short supply at the moment cough Donnahakankessie cough.
Underrated. Very calm & mature for his age. With him, Tomori & Kalulu we don’t need any defender for a decade. Of course if we don’t forget to renew with them!
He is only the 5th choice, even Kalulu is ahead of him and that is because we have only 5 central defenders if we have 7 it will be the 7th choice, what is that nonsense that he is currently strong in his position? Yes, there is potential, but that potential will not develop if he heats the bench, it is best for him to go on loan to leave an impression there and return to Milan at least as a 4th choice.
He’s pretty decent. Only wish he wasn’t slow.
If he is not that slow at this young age, he maybe….
