Zlatan Ibrahimović will very soon put pen to paper and be officially announced as a Milan play also for the next season.

Despite the tweets of Mino Raiola and the twists and turns of the mini-saga, at the end of the day Ibra will stay at Milan.

Stefano Pioli and his squad have already started training ahead of the new season without Zlatan, but the Swede will soon touch feet in Italy and arrive in Milanello.

As reported by Sky Italia and others, Milan and Ibrahimović have found an agreement today regarding a one-year renewal. Zlatan will earn €7 million in the next season without any bonuses. The parties have eventually found common ground, with the Diavolo making a big effort to please the  soon-to-be 39-year-old.

Only the official announcement is now missing and will arrive in the next few days. Ibra has decided to change his jersey number and he will go from #21 to #9 – to try and break the curse.

at such an exobitant wage for a nearly 39 year old player he better perfom all season and if he unfortunately gets injured for a long stretch of the season he then better give back his salary of that period, Milan really should have had inserted bonuses as a huge part of his contract as things can quickly change at that age and even he should understand that instead it seems like he and raiola has held us hostage for the last month or something.

Raven

Milan will sell plenty of #9 shirts don’t you think? ;)

Martin Bernhard

maybe and even though im glad he stays for next season i dont accept that premise as i doubt roughly 700.000 people or even half of that will buy his shirt. Even if they do sell that many shirts i wont forget how he and his agent has made a circus out of things and wasted our time. He better perform and stay fit.

Raven

He better perform and stay fit.

Yes man, that’s exactly what is secured when you sign Ibra. The deal is not so bad, considering how he lifted the team after his arrival.

Martin Bernhard

I agree, he most likely will and im also happy that he stays with us as he deffently has something to offer even at his age. Im just a bit irritated it had to take this long before confirmation.

Raven

I blame raiola, surely he is demanding CL football or he will offer Donnarumma to PSG or Madrid.

Martin Bernhard

agree raiola deffently has his name written all over this deal on the other hand its not only the fat pig who is to blame as theres allways the players who hires him as well. Hope milan at some point decides to add terms in all contracts that players cant hire him as their agent as he is allways causing too much problems for the clubs he is in contact with.

Raven

Well, I don’t blame Donna, he was 16, but the fat ass used him and Curva Sud hated him (for good reasons). I’m sure that Maldini is more influential to Donna that the asshole. But we will see.

kaka

Raven respect to you… what is 7million to give ibra he deserves it.

Raven

Thanks pal, I was pissed when he arrived, I called him a retired player, but the man is timeless

rich16

puma might sell a lot of jerseys. milan if lucky will get a small percentage out of that. so, no. this jersey sale myth is just a myth. doesn’t work like that.

Raven

So, each shirt cost what? 80 euros? Puma pays 10-15 each year.

If Puma takes a large part of the revenue, Milan keeps 12? 20? I’m intrigued

Puma would need to sell over 120K shirts to get a profit, that’s without their logo showing everywhere Milan goes.

Milan is a huge club, if they announce a crowfunding campaing the club would get 50 millions in a single month. I think Ibra’s #9 is a move for selling more shirts, the same goes to changing the third kit every season, or that teams are choosing pink as it sells more shirts

Fantastic news – finally the saga ends. Pity we had to let Thiago Silva go to Chelsea when he wanted to rejoin us but we’ll take what we can get.

And has anyone else noticed how we only have one player in the latest Italy squad? And seven – yes, seven – former players who could still be with us if management had its head screwed on.   Goalkeepers: Cragno (Cagliari), Donnarumma (MILAN), Meret (Napoli), Sirigu (Torino)   Defenders: Acerbi (Lazio EX MILAN), Bastoni (Inter), Biraghi (Inter), Bonucci (Juventus NO COMMENT), Caldara (Atalanta EX MILAN), Chiellini (Juventus EX MILAN YOUTH), D’Ambrosio (Inter), Di Lorenzo (Napoli), Florenzi (Roma), Mancini (Roma), Pellegrini (Juventus), Spinazzola (Roma)   Midfielders: Barella (Inter), Bonaventura (EX MILAN), Castrovilli (Fiorentina), Cristante (Roma EX MILAN), Jorginho (Chelsea), Gagliardini (Inter), Locatelli (Sassuolo EX… Read more »

In Milan’s defense, Acerbi was a late bloomer, but yeah, I had hopes for him back in the day, Milan opted for players who had experience in the role, Silvestre, Alex, Paleta.

Caldara….

Bonaventura sigh…

Locatelli, shame on rino, shame on Maldini.

El92, he wanted to leave right? He left for significant profit too. At least he didn’t leave for Juventus.

Cuongminhtran

Agree with you 100%. Most regret in Locatelli, another is Jack

Martin Bernhard

i agree with your overall assesment but Chiellini was never a milan player not even in his youth. He did train with us though to try to convince us giving him a contract but never was offered a deal by us.

I keep saying the same thing! I’m American but I’ve always supported Milan AND Italy. Milan has a duty to supply the national team with good players. Only Donna and Roman represent for us. This is another reason we should get tonali. We are looking like the old inter and looking like all these epl teams.

Raven

#9…. Imagine him pulling a Conti and being on the sidelines for 6months.

Raven

Not bad at all, looks like we didn’t needed the manager at all

LW- Rebic/Leao

AM- Hakan/Maldini

RW- Castillejo/Saelesmaekers

St- Ibra/Colombo/Roback

Martin Bernhard

who the hell is roback ? rebic ? :D

Raq

Roback and colombo are primavera players. I feel we should still buy a young striker with more first team experience to be ibra’s back up. Scamacca or isak would be ideal.

Martin Bernhard

Oh offcourse i completely forgot about the new aquisition of the young swede :D

Fantastic news! Congratulations Everyone! Forza Milan!

san marco -> king george -> superpippo -> ibracadabra. let the good times roll

Martin Bernhard

No one really gets anywhere close to van basten though but nevertheless all good attackers in their own rights. I was so sad when he had to retire at such a young age, my alltime favourite player.

Milan10

yeah mate, prime san marco was even deadlier than current cr7 and he could’ve been the 1st player to win 4 or even 5 ballon d’ors because no way ‘93 baggio and ‘95 weah were better players than him. pre-knee injuries gullit was even more complete and athletic than him

Martin Bernhard

Well van basten is my all time favourite player but that doesnt necessarily mean he is the best overall either he is just my favourite. Maradona had a bigger talent than van basten and to be honest in my view he is propably the best in the history of the game, dont care about messi, well unless he joined us that is but maradona played in a time where you could pretty much tackle people from behind potentially causing career ending injuries and still only get a yellow card if that at all i’d like to see messi and cr7… Read more »

my fav players are zidane and san marco; i love their grace and excellent technique, its like watching world class ballerinas. but yeah, in terms of technical proficiency, no one ever comes close to maradona. ronaldo 96-99 and messi 2008-12 were so close but they couldnt dominate the game and raise the quality of entire team because theyre such ball hogs. i cringe everytime millenials claim cr7 or messi are goat because they think those 2 have great longevity and consistency. well, pep’s barca and sacchi’s milan didnt have long peak but only a fool would say current juve, psg… Read more »

Martin Bernhard

shame we brought in djoerkaeff instead of zidane as i believe we had the chance to get him instead. Juventus team of today is deffently nowhere near the standards of the old milan of late 80 or early to mid 90ies. On the other hand they could propably better compete with milan of the 00s as that team was pretty much only proficient in cl but still i have my doubt if they really could be as consistent as they have been the last decade, Serie a is a completely different entity nowadays and juventus certainly cant say they have… Read more »

Martin Bernhard

freaking hell realized i had a blunder mentioning djoerkaeff as he obviously didnt play with us as i meant Dugarry, i must be getting senile or something :D

Milan10

ah i just read this haha

Milan10

i think u meant dugarry, that talentless but lucky bastard. djorkaeff was actually pretty good but sadly he signed for inter, never for milan. as for ance era milan, they almost always performed well vs big teams but sometimes struggled vs weak teams hence theyre more suitable for ucl not serie a. capello’s and lippi’s juve was exact opposite of that milan hence they did wel in serie a (even though they often got owned by milan) but sucked in ucl. i seriously dont think current juve can win vs ance milan when they cant even beat pioli’s milan. if… Read more »

Martin Bernhard

Yeah i know and i had actually corrected myself before your post :D i just started to think to myself, what the hell did i really just say that :D Well agree ancelottis milan in cl was pretty great but his serie a perfomances was not very good in my eyes and one of the main reasons why im not very interested in seeing him back with us. 8 years one scudetto doesnt impress me the least but yeah im sure that team woould still compete with juventus of today but lets see if our current team wont do that… Read more »
