Serginho has spoken ahead of the Derby, saying the 6-0 of 2001 is the one he remembers the most.
The first Derby della Madonnina of the 2019/20 season kicks off at 20:45 CEST on Saturday at Stadio San Siro.
Ex-Rossoneri fullback Serginho has talked to MilanTV about what the derby means, the Diavolo fans and the games he remembers best, among other things.
“What is it like to play and experience a Derby? The derby is a one-of a kind match, the whole city is watching, the players have a different approach to training sessions, the pressure is 40-60 percent higher, it’s a fascinating game,” he said. “I was fortunate enough to play in many derbies, I can assure you that it’s a feeling I had never felt in my footballing career.
“The derby that I remember the most? The 6-0 derby win is clearly the one that went down in history, I will never forget that night and neither will the Rossoneri fans, and Inter fans too, as it was not a very pleasant night for them, it was a heavy defeat, but it was such a joy for us to win that historic derby that everyone still remembers, with a result that no-one was expecting.

“My relationship with the fans? I always felt great at Milan, playing at San Siro, I had a good rapport with the Curva and all the fans. I’ve been retired for a while now but the fans still recognize me, and it’s such an amazing pleasure to be part of the Milan family and to be such a passionate fan, as I still am.
“Pre-derby rituals and superstitions? To push down the wing even more, it came naturally [laughs]. I always gave 100 per cent, and in the derbies, my mind was telling me to give 150. It came so natural to me, and I always managed to put in quality performances.”
