Zvonimir Boban spoke at Paolo Condó’s book presentation, saying Inter are favorites for Saturday’s Derby.
The Rossoneri won twice in their first three games but the sensations around Milan right now are not very positive, as the football displayed by Marco Giampaolo’s side does not satisfy the fans.
On Saturday at San Siro (20:45 CEST kickoff), Milan have their biggest challenge yet – Antonio Conte’s Inter, who are sitting at the top of the Serie A table.
“The derby? The points were made, we were hoping to be ahead but it’s a process, a beginning,” Milan Chief Football Officer Zvonimir Boban said this evening, as reported by Milannews.it, during the presentation of Paolo Condó’s new book – ‘La Storia del Calcio in 50 Ritratti’. “Inter will also improve over time. Inter are a little more favored than us, even if it’s open, 50-50. You have to control the emotions of the derby, I paid the price for that too. The derby brings out more than other games.

“Amalgamate of the new players? It takes a bit of time, but then the good ones understand each other. Sometimes after two training sessions you feel that there is harmony with some players. Inter are paying a real 3-5-2, which is an easier system than a 4-at-the-back system, it’s a bit easier to have amalgam in that game system.
“The hard-core of the team? When I got to Milan, the hard-core was strong. I immediately accepted the culture of work, the respect for the community… values that I had at Dinamo but it was another level. I loved Milan right away, it was easier for me to get used to these values, but at Milan I learned everything – from tactics to respect. I thank Costacurta, Maldini, Donadoni and Baresi, it was a privilege to play with them. I hope to find at least one today that is close to the level of the past ones.

“If ‘men’ are missing from the locker room? In reality, there are. It was an absurd mercato among a thousand agents who want to explain football to you. Among a thousand things I understood is that Donnarumma is the man there. He has a lot of passion, a love of ‘Milanismo’, despite being so young. He holds so much weight.
“New players for the derby? The coach is Giampaolo, you have to ask him. The racist chants at the Bentegodi? We heard them clearly.”

It feels like they are working on a completely financial plan at Milan. Gazidis came to do the same thing he did at Arsenal, raise the club income and strengthen the international brand. They went for young players this mercato because they have a future bigger “margin profit” than old players. They can generate profits later and sell the club to a better offer. This Milan is a winning project, yes, but not a winning team.
If that is what are they doing, I hope it ends soon and we find an owner that invests his heart in this club.
FFP anf pur new stadium will be shared with inter. And there is a BID already
I don’t see Arsenal as a success story even on financial level. Players like Ozil with stupid wages signed during his tenure at the club. Add this to no on field success to see he isn’t that great
@SOHEIL, Gazidis didn’t go to Arsenal to win trophies. They brought him for some specific tasks. First of all, he did very good (not great) in the marketing area. Closing deals with sponsors all over the world was one of his strong points. Arsenal was never ManU (gold mine) but had shown consistency. He wasn’t brought to Arsenal for club reorganization, but directly or indirectly he did it. After working 10 years under Wenger’s shadow he decided to grow more ambitious taking control of management. So they developed this habit of bad negotiations, until last minute, letting players go for… Read more »
Well my friend, I will agree with what ever you said but 80 million and no ffp sword is because arsenal have a positive cash reserves of 120 m plus pounds or so… with or without champions league they can spend money because their reserves are there and how did they got those reserves is not by owners shareholders injected money it’s because of over all clubs finances which unlike us are positive for last many years…..by the way just for the record Chelsea without champions league too next season can spend something like 200 m pounds because of their… Read more »
They should have not get anyone cos i dont know the essence of getting players and not using them .. Rubbish coach
Relaxe my friend he will lose his job come January
He can only field in 11 players at a time with 3 sub..
You all know that Giampaolo said that Paqueta should be less Brazillian. Well , Paqueta posted “Proud to be Brazillian” And Leao added “Forza Paqueta” This can be a sign of a start of trouble , as it also can be totally normal. We can’t really know. All i care about is that this team stays together , we are certainly not the best individually. So let us at least be better as a team ! Whatever the F Giampaolo is experimenting , i hope he finish it soon enough , i know new players will be our starters no… Read more »
Yeah Giampaolo really did not do a good job at this one. In terms of person’s wellbeing, you can’t just attack their whole essence. It’s fine to say he needs to be more disciplined, but once you add the Brazilian bit to it, the whole thing becomes personal, and I bet Paqueta is going go be even more “Brazilian” now. I don’t like how he’s handling personalities at all. 6 games to go till my judgement is made….
