Berlusconi: ‘Allegri has the last word’

SILVIO BERLUSCONI will let his coach decide.

AC Milan take on Cesena tomorrow night, and there is much enthusiasm over this match as new star signings Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Robinho are expected to make their debut.

The biggest question, however, is whether Coach Max Allegri would line-up all Alexandre Pato, Ibra, Ronaldinho and Binho on the pitch or only three. Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan Patron Berlusconi shared his thoughts.

Eto’o: ‘We only fear Barca & Real, not Milan’

“It is not true that I rediscovered the love for Milan, because I’ve always had it,” said Italy Prime Minister. “In last the two years, however, I had not liked the way with which the squad was put on the field, first with Ancelotti and then with Leonardo.

“I have always respected the role of our coaches, but I felt pain, seeing that the resources that are available to them were not properly used. In some games, we did not even get a shot on target, because Ronaldinho and Pato, instead of being near the goal, had played 45 meters away from it.

There were rumors that the main reason why Berlusconi opened his wallet and bought Ibrahimovic and Robinho because of the elections, in order to get the support of Milan fans again. However, he denies.

“These speeches make no sense, the elections will go only three years,” he noted.

“If we will see Ibrahimovic, Pato, Robinho and Ronaldinho against Cesena? Besides them there are other class players like Pirlo and Seedorf, but Allegri will decide who to play based on the condition.

“I am not the last person to arrive in football so I believe that I am able to say my piece. I have spoken with Allegri. I have told him what I think and he knows that I wanted to set up a very spectacular Milan, capable of entertaining, in which all the best players can play together if they are well. But, as always, he has the last word.”

Zlatan Ibrahimovic said Milan are now stronger than Inter, asked if he agrees with that, he said: “I’ll let the others say something on that.  I only know that, as always, we are aiming to be protagonists in Italy and in Europe. If there aren’t any injuries, our squad is of the highest order. It was last year and it is even more so this year.”

On reports linking Kaka to Real Madrid, Berlusconi said: “If Kaka were to go to Inter I’d also applaud Inter because he has always been a great player.”
