Here is the squad of Milan.
The Rossoneri take part in the annual International Champions Cup which this year takes place in the United States.
Milan will face Manchester United on July 26th at 05:00 CET at StubHub Center in Los Angeles, Tottenham Hotspur on August 1st at 02:30 CET at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis and then Barcelona on August 5th at 02:00 CET at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.
The players will meet at Milanello on Sunday 22 at 14:30 CET before heading to Linate airport in the afternoon to take the flight to Paris. Then, on Monday, the team will continue the journey to LA.
Gabriel, Alessandro Plizzari, Gustavo Gomez and Carlos Bacca are out of the squad for reasons related to the market (but Andrea Bertolacci and Nikola Kalinić have been included), while Andrea Conti is injured and Riccardo Montolivo has been left out for technical reasons. Lucas Biglia will be joining the team on July 29th, while Ivan Strinić is expected to join the squad at a later date.

It just saddens me to see the name Kalinic on that squad list, as a matter of fact it’s actually sad to see so little class players on it I really hope Elliot addresses our needs in terms of signing a few quality players but the more I hear from them they keep referring to UEFA FFP rules and adhering to them which means we won’t have a whole lot of money to use, regardless of what your worth and Elliott are worth billions unless Milan breaks even or with a plus/minus of 30m then we’ll just break there rules… Read more »
Exactly. They should be aware that there will be no financial stability without success on the pitch which require quality players. I’m sure they are.
It requires a quality coach. A quality coach can take okay players and make them play well. Unfortunately Gattuso is not a quality coach. As he couldn’t beat any of the current top 4 teams. So spend less on players and change the coach.
Milan was beating roma, lazio, inter, sampdoria and fiorentina with gattuso !
He couldnt only beat Napoli nor Juventus. They are way ahead of Milan. Roma, Lazio, Inter, Fiorentina, etc.. he won against.

Hey there YourBoss personally i wouldnt mind if we sell him but if gattuso does feel he can add something to the squad im also fine with him staying as long he doesnt end up as a first choice playing badly. Besides of having some experience gattuso might feel he adds something good to the team dynamics and might also be willing to accept a smaller role without complaining. Bertolacci can’t add shit to our squad. He has always been an average player at best and it’s one the mysteries of the world how Galliani managed to spend 20m on him. He couldn’t even play well for Genoa last season. He’s THAT bad.
Well to be fair, Bertolaci’s price was reasonable enough at the time; mind you he was young and a starter on Conte’s NT side. And selling him for 5 mil won’t do us much.
There are plenty of one hit wonders (your boy Cristante for instance) who haven’t reached NT yet, and cost about the same.
Wouldn’t call Cristante a one season wonder, he had a great first six months at Atalanta and then carried on that form for the entire coming season. He has also had his NT debut and a couple more caps to that as well. If he can carry on his form and perform in a bigger team is another thing, Di Francesco is good with youth players so I wont be surprised if he’s a success.
They (Cristante and Berto) are pretty much identical to me, including the Inter kid whose name can’t remember, and next year’s Atalanta’s midfield wonder.
No it was not reasonable at all. Everybody was surprised when Galliani dished out 20m on him. For fucks sake there is even an interview with Bertolacci himself where they ask him if his price-tag was too high, and even he says yeah its a bit too much. I mean, even the guy knew he’s not worth anything like that. :facepalm:

The price for him at the time was insanity, and he has shown himself to be exactly what he is, borderline Genoa talent. To imply he was a national team regular is disingenuous at best.
Also, I would accept a 5m offer for him immidiately, as that’s his fair price and his inclusion in the squad of a team like Milan is more harmful than helpful. I would have paid that 5 million myself just to ship him out if I could, I’m serious. My eyes are tired of seeing shitty players running around in a Milan shirt that used to be worn by legends.
Bertolacci and Montolivo are good players, but not as first choice. Disappointed to see Kalinic in over Bacca. Our goalkeepers are among the best, defenders are among the best, midfield is decent but lacking depth, strikers are deep but lack top quality. I expect a lot from Cutrone, Kessie, Calabria and Calhonoglu this season.
Add tsadjout to that list… That kid can turn to be a beast…
Motolivo out of squad for usa, think badelj will join soon while montolivo will be given free transfer.
Lot of people complaine about badalj but he had pretty good season and was rated high on whoscored.. If he come to milan will be vice biglia.
Bertolacci will play vice kessie and i truly hope we sign meyer for vice Bonaventura this 2 signings on free would give much needed depth to our midfield

Good to see Frank Tsadjout getting a chance to come along. Hope he gets some minutes. He looks superb in Primavera last year. I’d say he looks even better then Cutrone did the year before. But he is young, and no reason to start getting any hopes for him yet. But I think he have a bright future
If Gattuso thinks Bertolacci is worth keeping then the new management should replace him immediately.You don’t need technical eye to know that he isn’t a Milan material.

Guys, it’s a matter of cost per benefit- Berto is already ours, has measly salary, and won’t fetch much on transfer. I think Gatusso sees him as a backup for Kessie (so instead of Mauri).
Milan Badjel also a free transfer, and better than Monto.
Both our ok squad members, not starters of course, but good back up for free. Remember we only have 50 mil or so for transfers, and we need a striker.
Badelj was not even in the starting 11 for Croatia. He will not improve the quality of play at Milan. We already have Biglia and Locatelli.
We need to only bring in a player that can elevate the midfield to a higher level.
Players like Badelj are only good at playing in mid table teams. Same goes for Bertolacci and Montolivo.
I never understood this backup argument. Zapata’s “backup” but you know every time he comes on he’s going to somehow gift a goal to the opposition. I’m not saying Bertolacci’s that bad, but he’s not good either.
Backup means you need players for Europa-nothing league, when players are injured/out with red cards, or to rest starters sonthey they won’t get injured much (see point 2). If your Juve you can get 22-24 great tonworld class players; if you’re the current Milan you have to compromise.
I really hope the new management does something for the club. It has been years since we are down and we need help.

Agree. Better to use the money for signing Golovin before Juve get him. Golovin is as aggresive as Nedved decades ago. Did anyone know how Pavel Nedved play for Lazio and Juve? He really has winning mentality and his stamina and shooting skills are one of the best.

Looks like we’ll have a bit less than 50 mil for transfers, as some reports say. A bit better than I expected, and not sure how it complies with FFP.
But if this is true, selling some prospects at the right price (hopefully Kalanic, Silva, and Musa), could be enough for a top striker and decent left winger. Could do the job.

Sell Bertolacci for 6M, sign Meyer (5M singing money + 2-2.5M salary). It will be a great business.
