Hakan Çalhanoğlu admitted he was tired after the win over Novara, and said ‘with Gattuso there is a great atmosphere’.
Milan played their first pre-season friendly of the summer today, beating Novara 2-0 thanks to goals from Suso and Calabria.
The match arrived after the club got the news this morning that they’ll be playing in the Europa League next season, after the club’s appeal on UEFA’s decision before the CAS was accepted.
“I feel good but I’m tired. I’m not at peak fitness, of course,” Çalhanoğlu, who played in the second half against Novara, told MilanTV. “We worked hard this week. With Gattuso there’s a great atmosphere, we’ve been training well and hard. We didn’t have much energy, but winning is always important, even in friendly matches like this one. We’re back in the Europa League? We’re very happy.
“My positon on the pitch? I know the role of mezz’ala because I played there in Germany. The important thing is what the coach wants from me, regardless of the role. My position isn’t a problem.”
