Milan have apparently made an initial approach to check the situation of Rafinha, who is recovering from injury and could leave Barca on loan.

The Rossoneri have already signed 11 players this summer but another midfielder could still arrive, although it may depend on the upcoming departures.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Italia, Milan have contacted Barcelona recently to ask for information about the 24-year-old Brazilian Rafinha.

Rafinha is seen as a useful player to system of Vincenzo Montella as he’s capable of playing in several roles.

He is coming back from a knee injury and Di Marzio believes that the ex-Celta man could be available on loan.

We are entering the final week of the mercato and new arrivals – if any – will most likely rely on exits and on the opportunities available. Rafinha is said to be an idea, and there could be developments soon.

Man oh man! Don’t know what to say. This is more than I bargained for. Is it just me but wouldn’t you guy want milan to take the gamble on wilshere? Ok I’ll stop talking now…hahaha!!

Manga la figa

Dude Wheelchair is on a first name basis with all the medical facility doctors and nurses in Europe.
This guy might be good for us, who knows.

dejan10

Put in a good word and make it happen Braida, you owe us one.

Agni

player recovering from injury

I would say – free loan with option to buy would be a nice deal. We pay his wages though and then see how it goes from there.

tunchi

I don’t know much about this guy but being a Brazilian he is welcome to the new era of Milan

JOHN THE BAPTIST

Yeah some of us know Rafinha Alcantara is a really talented footballer, and i wouldnt mind without a doubt if we got him. But my dear “Tunchi” since when did “being a Brazilian” become a yardstick for playing for AC Milan? we wanted to build an “all Italian team” have you now changed your mind Berlu? do you now prefare an “all Brazilian team”? Well maybe at 80, you have forgotten your escapades at AC Milan. you remember how you got us T.S35, very rock solid, but still down memory lane you had gotten us a Brazilian too, a certain… Read more »

Milanzah

We don’t need rafinha now, provided he is coming from injury and Barcelona needs a training ground for him which Milan is not. I say go for frosberg he is a better bet

AdeB

I sometimes do not understand the transfer model of Milan. Why Rafinha??

If we are not signing very young promising players then we have no business signing bench warmers. Youth acquisition and development should be paramount to us as well as developing alongside the experienced players.

Forza Milan

Haso112

Bro, have you been following up with the MILAN PRIMAVERA? Well, if you have you’d have noticed some very good young and promising acquisitions right there….

AdeB

I’m talking about them playing alongside the senior team
Promoting them to play with the senior players.

Cutrone, locatelli and Donna have proven their worth. More still can prove theirs

My 2 cents

Pray_For_Milan

If we want CAM/LW than Forsberg is a better option. Rafinha has nothing special and is an average player. Poor decision-making and is just a Brazilian Bonaventura, dribbles himself to trouble

Klum

I’m sorry but I beg to differ. Yes I agree that Jack can be wasteful, dribbling without a purpose. But Rafinha has more quality than Jack, he is young and promising. Plus he is already delivering at the highest level. Barca will shot themselves in the foot if they let Alcatara go even on loan because at this point they need quality and depth in their squad and Rafinha can offer both.

Milanista121

Am I the only one who thinks that our team is good now and dont need more recruitments? The players we could need are, if we keep playing a 4-3-3, then we need a winger, unless if the plan is to play Bona as a winger, then I dont actually think it’s that necessary, at least for this summer. And then we need someone who can sub Kessie from time to time. We had Kucka, who is a poor mans Kessie now that we’ve finally seen some quality on our side of the pitch, he would’ve been a good substitute.… Read more »

I don’t think mauri can be a backup to kiesse yet. The gap between the quality is too much and that is the Reason why milan should get a BTB midfielder.

Also kieta or forsberg to cover our LW.

That should be enough for now.

Top striker next season after qualifying for CL. If however Silva and cutrone blossom well, we might not need a new striker even for UCL.

Ink

And you don’t think so, based on….. his quality performances in the preseason, that stinging shot that burned Cordaz’s palm, and his 5 past appearances where he bossed the midfield with incredible passion and quality?

Mr.g

We have Montolivo, he has and is always been a very good box to box player. He can tackle and pass, he just can not create.
locatelli & Biglia with the turc are creaters , montoilivo is like kessie just italian..

Milanista121

@Mr g, I would not say that Montolivo is just like Kessie, far from it, his technical abilities are very underrated, just because he works hard on the field doesnt make him a destroyer. Pirlo was pretty much always in the top three of the players who covered the most ground in Milan, not due to him being a destroyer, but due to him always being in the right place and creating space for himself. Although I agree that he can play in that position, it’s far from a like-for-like replacement. Locatelli can also play in that posiition, both of… Read more »

Andrej Modic is the midfielder, and his younger brother Mihael Modic plays mostly on the wings. He played well last season for Primavera. He might not be a Donna-Loca-Calabria level talent, but for desperate backup at some point into the season, he can have a chance as well.

Hopefully Mauri does well in the next match :)
He simply did not have some consistent playing time for us. I believe in him ^^

Milanista121

Ooh cool, yeah I was thinking about Andrej, wonder what happened with him, he impressed me a lot back then when he got the chance in the first team.
Well at least it’s something, I would say that we keep our squad as it is now and see what happens until January :) I’m more than content with our mercato so far!

Ck

Haha. Monto did play in right mid before. He was totally gangraped. He needs quite a lot of time to execute a pass. By the time he is ready to make a pass, he is robbed off possession. He doesn’t have the physique to hold off opponents. He is too slow to be a box to box midfielder. He doesn’t enjoy driving into the box as well.

Ink

I agree that the team is fine, but not for wingers. We really don’t have enough depths on wings unless we promote Hamadi/la Ferarra/Modic. I’ve always believed in Mauri. He can pull a Suso and prove to be a great player if he is given the chance. The problem is, we did not give him the chance. He can only do so much if we do not play him. Also, there is Zanellato who can get physical. The sale of Kucka was an outrage though. He did not want to leave. We need player of his character. Still we sell… Read more »

Silver

I think that the reason we aren’t really looking for wingers and have 3 strikers is that Montellas wants to play 3-5-2 or some variation of that when Roma comes back from the injury. Like you said in another post “Bonucci – Musacchio – Roma – Gomez – Gabbia – Zapata”. 5 or 6 centerbacks is perfect for that.

Ink

Indeed mate. We don’t need wingers for 3-5-2, but if at some point in the season we need 4-3-3 for tactical reasons or injuries, we would be screwed.
Also, I am not very confident in Montella ditching 4-3-3 lol. Hope he does, though. 3-5-2 would be awesome.

Misund

I dont think we will change formation. It seems like the aim is to continue with 433. Gomez will leave. Bonucci, Romagnoli and Musacchio will rotate with Zapata as the main backup. 3 strikers for 1 position is normal.

Silver

Mauri needs someone who trusts him. I remember when Brocci took over the helms then Mauri was on of the best player on the pitch. I think he deserves a chance tomorrow.

Cocor

I thought Fassonne no more player’s coming

agustinar

Do we have “Kessie” typical player in our youth academy ?

andimakmur

Gattuso (hey he is in our youth academy… as a coach) LOL
Just kidding brother, I don’t think we have one like Kessie in our primavera or maybe I just don’t know yet. Cheers

AC4M

Still no wingers… I’m waiting…

or will we play with Niang? xD

And why does Mauri doesn’t get playing time? It’s always Locatelli Locatelli Montolivo Mortolivo…

and btw at this moment I prefer Borini rather than Niang… at least the italian works hard.

Misund

Mauri wont play regista so no point crying about Locatelli and Monto. Mauri is fighting for a spot with kessie. Blame him

AC4M

Mauri can play with Kessie and Biglia in midfield.

Misund

Sure he can. Bonucci can play striker as well, dont mean its the smartest thing. Mauri will play Box to box. wtich is the role Kessie is playing. Loca Monto and Biglia are all registas. Mauri is not.

AC4M

RAFINHA ALCANTARA

This guy is a TOP player and he would fit Milan very well.

Problem: The same as Wilshere (very good player too)

and stop complaining with #7 Kalinic… Deulofeu also used that n7

lol

sasori

Why loan this guy…and improve him on barcas behalf just as we did with delo..only to lose him… buying kalinic also is a waste coz draxler is available for 35m ..
He is beta and a proven champion..not jack..

nick

Milan should go after Julian Draxler who we need on the left wing. Keita Balde is a player with a bad attitude and we don’t need that.

I don’t know if Rafinha make sense but it would be a wise choice for Milan to get Draxler who is very good and only 23yrs old.

He will sit on the bench thanks to Neymar Jr.. So he will be despensable at PSG.

gemu

If he comes he is welcome but I will prepare some one who is ready not coming from an injury

bidonesia

how about a DM / BTB as Kessie backup / rotation, will be better if he’s portugese cuz Silva seem alone, best case is R. Sanchez
or W. Carvalho / Moutinho / Veloso…

AC4M

Dude

William is going to West Ham

Moutinho is not what he was in Porto.

Veloso is simply crap.

André Silva is portuguese but he can understand the others players… also brazilians who speak portuguese…. that’s why Rafinha could be is partner.

Milanellofm

If Rafinha is a free loan then why not? He would be a good sub player and added depth. And enough of Forsberg we aren’t getting him. If we were we wouldn’t of signed calhanoglu. Him bonaventura and Forsberg are same style players and three is too much in a team

Shawn

Just no love for Niang? Anyone has strong faith in him?

successor

If you read Fassone and Mr Li report bout the transfer yesterday.. they both made it known after the signing of Kinalic , milan is complete as a team , any player that might be coming will be on loan not buying any more player till january if the team need to be re-adjust
