The oldest team in Serie A: AC Milan

AC MILAN have the highest average-age in Serie A.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport report, AC Milan are the oldest team in the Serie A with an average age of 29.28 years. This is another reason why the fans of Milan are not quite happy.

But also main rivals in the league cannot smile: as Inter – 28.97; Juventus – 28.36; Roma – 27.62. The overall situation of the entire Serie A is not good either, as they have an average age of 27.44 years.

Only 8-9% of home-players are being used in the first team in teams in Italy. Arsenal and Barcelona should be the role models, as 50% of their current squad have grown in their youth system.

AC Milan should really do something about this. They should use more youngsters in the first team, as well as offloading now, or next year some of the old players they have.

well, now it’s better than 2 years ago when Milan still have Maldini, Favalli, Costacurta, Cafu, Dida, etc. if i’m not wrong, the average age is 35 or something. so Milan had improvement for this ‘useless’ statistic. for the role model, i agree with Barca, but Arsenal? pfft!

Maldini>ACMilan

We definitely need youngsters, we have great youth players: verdi, merkel, strasser, oudamadi, so lets hope we can see them playing allot, and I hope we can sell jankulovski, kaladze, you know… :/

this statistic is so meaningless. an average age of 27 is considered too old for a league now? please….

danny

they should sale kaladze and oddo to bring a new young defender

@bucci: i agree with you. look Inter, they have an average 28 years but they got treble last season. this is a pro league, not some playground for kids.
