Gustavo Gomez has put pen to paper and joined Milan for the next five years.
After putting an end to their interest in Mateo Musacchio of Villarreal, Milan quickly turned their attention to Club Atlético Lanús’ Gustavo Gomez and the player today arrived in Italy, went through the medical tests and signed the contract.
“AC Milan have met a great professional with a strong passion for football and want to warmly welcome him,” a statement on Milan’s website reads. “The Paraguayan, defending champion in Argentina with Club Atletico Lanus, Gustavo Gomez has signed a contract with our Club until 30th June 2021.
“Best of luck Gustavo!” Speaking to Milan TV, Gustavo said: “I’m very happy to have come and player for this club and I hope to repay the trust shown in me. It’s a very important step in my career to come a play for a club so big. I will do everything to repay the confidence. It’s a pride to be the first player from Paraguay to wear the shirt of Milan. Playing for Milan is a dream.
“I train well and I’m physically fit, I hope to be helpful for the team and try to win the derby! I’m a player with personality and I’m powerful like many other Paraguayans. This week my agent made me very happy when he told me that deal has been closed. I couldn’t refuse it.”
Gomez, who revealed the deal (a reported €8.5m) was concluded within 3 days, is expected to challenge Zapata & Paletta for the role alongside Romagnoli. A big opportunity for the relatively unknown Gomez.

THE GUY IS VERY GOOD IN THE AIR,FIRST IN AIR TO DEFEND,HAVE PACE AND VERY FIT PHYSICAL.IF YOU DON’T BELIEVE ME CHECK YOUTUBE VIDEOS OG THE GUY.FORZA GOMEZ!!!!_!
The videos remind me of Thiago Silva. Great pace and great passing. I hope he’s also good at reading the game and cutting passes out. Modern defenders can’t seem to do that.
Gustavo Gomez is 23yrs, Ely 22, verghara 22. Going by their age,Gomez seems to be more experienced which I think is better. He has a reasonable international experience and was in the Argentine league best eleven for last season. Verghara should be loan out.
Hope he does well
Please share his video so I can watch too
