LUCA ANTONINI is another injury concern for AC Milan for the next crucial weeks.
According to il Corriere dello Sport, AC Milan fullback could miss at least two weeks after picking up an injury against Chievo on Sunday afternoon.
The right-footed left-back leaves Milan with almost no cover. It doesn’t seem as if Didac Vila is going to start against Napoli, so Milan have now to choose between Daniele Bonera and Massimo Oddo.

Bonera played few games this season in this position and played fine, although he’s struggling with injuries at the moment. Oddo meanwhile was the substitution to Antonini against Chievo.
The former Italy international seemed a bit lost there as he’s a natural right-back.
Antonini could therefore miss the game with Napoli, Juventus and the second leg against Tottenham.

It looks like Zambro is healthy once again though. He can play on the left or right side of the defense. Abate on the right and Zambro on the left seems like a reasonable short term fix…. however, I would like to see Vila play sometime.

Bonera is injured. I would like to see Zambrotta back because he’s a very good player still, but he had a serious injury. Vila should start.

If Allegri don’t want to play Vila or Urbi as a left back, maybe he can change the formation to 3-5-2 or 3-4-3. The 3 defender are Yepes/Sokratis-Nesta-Silva. I think that’s more solid than we must see Bonera or Oddo playing as a left back.

totally forgot about urby.
allegri needs to use his brain ( something I don’t think he possesses ) and use urby as a left back, sure he’s a liability defensively, but who cares, at this point? at least he can go forward,whip in crosses, and add some MUCH NEEDED WIDTH in our narrow attack.

didac won’t play guys. tassotti, has said that didac is way too young and inexperienced…he still has ways to go. don’t be surprised if he’s collateral in a swap exchange…

And the problem is, its against Napoli, so I dont think theres room for experiment, de Vito and Vila are out of the question I believe, that leaves us with Oddo.

A 5-2-3 is also possible, with Abate and Urby on the flanks, with Yepes, Silva, and Nesta as CBs. Boateng and Gattuso in the middle, and Pato/R70, Ibra and Cassano in attack:

Abate and Urby must rly contribute to the attack, and with their pace, space will be found in the attack and mid, could be lethal.

didac is impossible right now – it’s too early. urby does not have the experience and quality in that position (yet!). and if zambrotta isn’t fit enough yet (he just came off from injury), THEN take jankulowski – old and slow but has a lot of experience on that flank (since he has proven this time over time in the last glorious decade); go 4 him (with respect)…
Zambrotta should recover in time for the game. And Jankulovski still isn’t a slow player… he’s faster than Oddo. And Bonera for that matter.
