It’s reported that Milan have made a new improved offer for Biglia while Lazio have lowered their demands as the clubs are looking to find an agreement.
Biglia agreed personal terms with Milan for over a month now but the two clubs have yet to reach an understanding, as Lazio insisted on €25m for their captain whose contract expires next year.
But in the last couple of days, Lazio have reopened the door and President Claudio Lotito is ready to deal again with Milan to try and find an agreement. Biglia was originally due to be in Rome today for the start of Lazio pre-season but asked to postpone his arrival in 48 hours, in which the 31-year-old midfielder hopes Milan can close a deal for him.
According to Sportitalia’s Alfredo Pedullà, CEO Marco Fassone called Lotito on Saturday afternoon and made him a new offer: €14-15m plus bonuses for Biglia. This represents a rise compared to Milan’s initial offer of €12m plus bonuses. The Biancocelesti have dropped their demand to from €25m to €22m and then to €20m plus bonuses and talks between the sides are continuing.
One option to lower the cost of Biglia would be to include Gianluca Lapadula, who is wanted by Lazio. Pedullà claims that it’s a possibility but Genoa are hoping to sign the striker and are in talks with Milan as well. The ball is now in the court of Lotito who will apparently make a decision soon.
Milannews.it claims that the sides are €2m apart. Pedullà believes that Milan want to close the deal as soon as possible and have Biglia on the Chinese tour which begins on the 14th of July.
15m would be fair for Biglia (guys have in mind that he is captain of rival team for Europe so price must be higher)

Sheva. You don’t even need to show stats that Biglia is better. Anyone who watches lazio game once in a while knows that Biglia is much better than Kucka. No doubt that Kucka is a fighter and ball winner but he can’t pass at all. Even in a good position, he can do a simple lay off for a teammate to score. Basically, kucka is slightly better than Biglia in ball winning but biglia is way better than kucka in passing. Kucka has problems even passing simple low ball whereas Biglia can pass long balls

I agree that both players play in different positions but to counter your argument, this all started because you said Biglia was not as good as Kucka…how can you compare how good two players are against each other when they play in different positions then given your argument?
No he is not, exept in long pasing…Kuco is far stronger than him faster and better in airial duels. Kucka was sold for cheap, but regardless, the fact that your paying 3 times for Biglia doesn’t mean he has to be 3 times better. For one, both are two different types of players. Kucka cannot be a playmaker if you point a gun to his head; Biglia contributes quite a lot to defense, but isn’t a master destroyer like Kucka (who is also better in the air). Amazing that Milan didn’t fall for the trap and overpay for him, he is definetly worth the 15mil, but not a dime more! With his qualities, presence and experience we should feel comfortable before the start of the season! I wouldn’t like this deal. I understand we want to sell players in an overcrowded squad, but we are buying expensive and selling cheap. I am sure we could’ve gotten closer to 10M for kucka. We should be able to get 12-13M for lapa.

That info is not correct. It is believed that Milan have gentleman’s agreement with Genoa for Lapadula for 12 to 15mil euro. Hence Lapadula would not be included

I like this move. Biglia isn’t world class or anything, but he’s a very good regista that we can depend on. Locatelli is still young and needs to develop before starting every match. Last season Biglia played in 24 matches, and that’s without Europa League, meaning Locatelli will still get his chances and opportunity to develop. He was also the captain in Lazio, which I think is important considering we have a young team, he’ll bring essential leadership qualities. This signing is a red herring compared to what the management did with the others. We have two experienced mid (Montolivo and Sosa) already. – If we don’t need a world class just an OK regista, I’d rather take Badelj for 10-12 M, economically better, and his salary would be lower.
